Goodna Special School Goodna Special School The school was established in 1974 and it has experienced significant growth in recent years.

Goodna State Special School endeavours to provide the highest possible quality of educational programs for the students who have Intellectual Impairment and other significant disabilities and who live in the eastern suburbs of Ipswich. It is currently a Band 11 school with over 200 students from Prep to Year 12. The school provides a safe, stable learning environment where every student can experi

ence success every day. We deliver an educational experience for our students that promotes their confidence and capacity to be citizens who are as independent and productive as is possible.

This week's Key Word Signs are Friend 🤝 and Teacher 👩‍🏫👨‍🏫

Learning Key Word Sign is a wonderful way to support communication and help everyone feel included. We encourage all of our families to have a go at practising these signs together at home throughout the week.

A few fun ideas:
🤝 Use the Friend sign when talking about friends, playing together, or looking through family photos.
👩‍🏫👨‍🏫 Use the Teacher sign when talking about school, reading books about school, or chatting about your child's day.

Practising just a few times each day helps build confidence and reinforces what your child is learning at school.

Prep had an amazing time celebrating 100 Days of School! 🎉💯

Our students enjoyed a fun-filled day with a number hunt, sang along to lots of number songs, and finished the celebration with an exciting dance party! 🕺🎶
