Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

💜 Safe sleep is everyone's responsibility, and it's always a priority.

Goodstart Early Learning Goodna has been supporting children and families in Goodna and our surrounding suburbs for 22 years.

We have long-term, committed educators, some who have been with us since we opened. Over that time, we've watched children grow, welcomed siblings through our doors and built wonderful relationships with generations of local families. We have even begun to welcome the children of those who we cared once cared for when they were little. We've had some full circle moments at Goodstart Goodna.

We're proud to be a familiar and trusted part of our community, and we're always excited to welcome new families.

At Goodstart Goodna, we believe every child, educator and family belongs.

Education is a fundamental right for all children and it begins in the first 5 years where brain development, attachment and pre-formal schooling learning sets a child up for success in their adult years.

What the outside world observes as the simplicity of playing is provided with intentionality, meaning, careful planning and provisions that create opportunity for a wonderment that stays with children forever.

Our children have been busy creating a whole world in the sandpit; blending construction vehicles, dinosaurs, tools, and safety gear into one incredible imaginative scene.
Through this play, they experiment with ideas, negotiate roles, solve problems, and use rich language to share their thinking. Educators join in alongside them, supporting curiosity, extending conversations, and celebrating the creativity unfolding.
It’s amazing to see how children make meaning through play when they’re free to design, build, and imagine together.

Ever had one of those "What should I be doing with my child?" moments? You might already have the answer at home.

Earlier this year, every Goodstart family received a What & When for Families guide for each child. If it's been tucked away in a drawer since then, now might be the perfect time to pull it back out.

The guide is packed with simple, play-based activities that support your child's learning and development at home. Best of all, it's written in your child's voice, with ideas tailored to their age and developmental stage.

From singing songs with babies and playing peek-a-boo, to "I Spy" games, storytelling and treasure hunts with older children, the activities are designed to fit naturally into everyday moments you already share together.

We know learning doesn't only happen in the classroom. Those small moments at home can help build big communication, language and literacy skills.

Handwashing may seem simple, but for our Nursery 2 children, it’s a big step in learning to care for themselves. Here, we observed children independently turn on taps, follow visual prompts, and complete each step with pride. They even took the time to assist one another if help was needed.
These routines strengthen self‑help skills, build awareness of personal hygiene, and support children’s sense of capability. With gentle guidance from educators, children are developing confidence, agency, and healthy habits that will support them throughout life.
