Book Week 2026 was a total hit! All week long, our rooms were buzzing with storytimes, magical tales, and endless imagination.

🧪 SCIENCE WEEK AT LEAD CHILDCARE GOODNA! 🔬✨

Our budding young scientists have had their thinking caps on and investigation skills at work all week long! Here’s a peek at what our amazing rooms explored:

👶 Toddlers: Hands-on sensory science! Our toddlers explored new textures and built fine motor skills through bubble wrap and sponge painting. They also put their concentration to the test using tweezers to rescue ice cubes and toy bears! 🧊🧸

🎨 Pre-Kindy & Junior Kindy: Working together, our children dove into human biology to discover how different parts of their bodies work. They also turned into mini-physicists with a interactive "Sink or Float" experiment using classroom treasures! 💦

🌱 Kindergarten: Our Kindy scientists turned green thumbs into plant investigators! They planted bean sprouts and have been tracking their daily growth step-by-step. They also took on a tricky frozen insect rescue from ice orbs and engineered custom foil boats! The ultimate test? Seeing whose boat stayed afloat while navigating their chosen insect across the water using straw power! ⛵🪲

🌟 What an absolute whirlwind of fun we’ve had this week at LEAD Childcare Goodna! 🎨🌱

Our little learners have been so busy discovering, creating, and growing. Here is a peek into what each of our wonderful rooms got up to:

🎨 Toddlers: Splish, splash, and stroke! Our toddlers explored all kinds of painting techniques using sponges, brushes, and their very own hands to collaborate on a stunning group art piece.

🌱 Junior Kindy: Little green thumbs at work! They've been learning all about how to care for our garden and the natural environment around us.

🐦 Pre-Kindy: Nature detectives in action! After stumbling upon a real bird's nest in the trees outside, they’ve dove headfirst into learning all about birds and why they build nests.

🏗️ Kindergarten: Master builders at play! Using loose parts, our Kindergarten crew constructed incredible structures right inside the classroom from bustling carparks and cozy houses to towering skyscrapers.

✂️ Fine Motor Focus: Across the board, we've been strengthening those tiny hand muscles through guided scissor practice, handwriting, and creative drawing!

📚✨ The Magic of Storytelling in Kindergarten ✨📚

Our Kindergarten children have been diving into the wonderful world of storytelling through puppet shows, shared stories, and imaginative play.

This morning, the children brought the tale of The Three Billy Goats Gruff to life by drawing the story on their whiteboards. Their creativity, focus, and enthusiasm were incredible to watch.

They were so proud of their work that they couldn’t wait to share their drawings with everyone and we’re just as excited to share them with you 💛

🖤💛❤️ Reconciliation Week in Pre‑Kindy & Junior Kindy ❤️💛🖤

Our Pre‑Kindy & Junior Kindy children have spent the week exploring and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as part of Reconciliation Week.

Today, they created their very own “Voices of Country” hanging art carefully threading beads onto wool and finishing each piece with soft feathers. This hands‑on experience supported their fine motor development while encouraging connection, creativity, and cultural appreciation 🪶✨

We are so proud of the meaningful learning happening in our space and the respect our children show as they learn about the First Peoples of Australia.

🪴🧡 Kindergarten Excursion for Reconciliation Week 🧡🪴

Our Kindergarten children had a wonderful morning exploring Bunnings as part of their Reconciliation Week learning journey. The children are working together to create their very own Bush Tucker herb garden, learning about native plants, their uses, and the importance of caring for Country 🌿✨

They loved choosing herbs, talking about how they grow, and discovering how Bush Tucker connects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. This hands-on experience is helping our little learners build respect, understanding, and appreciation for the world’s oldest living cultures.

We can’t wait to watch their Bush Tucker garden come to life and share this learning with our families and community 🌱🤝
