🧑‍🍳 National Vegemite Day 🧑‍🍳
This week, we celebrated National Vegemite Day by making cheese and Vegemite scrolls and exploring Vegemite-scented playdough. The children enjoyed sharing conversations about how they eat Vegemite at home while engaging in sensory play and cooking experiences.

🍣 World Sushi Day 🍣
This week at Golden Grove, we celebrated World Sushi Day with a fun, hands-on sushi-making experience. Chef Emily visited each classroom to demonstrate how to make sushi rolls before supporting the children to create their own.

A variety of fillings and utensils were provided, allowing children to choose their ingredients and practice their rolling skills. The experience was a great success, with all children enthusiastically giving it a go and many enjoying their delicious creations at lunchtime.

🍁 Nature Painting 🍃

Classroom 5 spent the afternoon delving into nature in a mixed-media painting experience. Focusing on process art, prioritising creativity, experimentation and sensory exploration

🪱🪲 Wombat Stew 🪲🪱
In Classroom 4 & 5, we have been exploring how we can bring our favourite storybooks to life.
Today our educators set up our very own Wombat Stew station where the children worked together to brew their own gooey, brewy, yummy, chewy, Wombat stew!

🫖🌸 Nature Tea Party 🌸🫖
As we have been exploring how we can incorperate pieces of nature into our play, the children in Classroom 3 enjoyed making delicious sweet tea for one another to acknowledge International Tea Day.

💐Mother's Day Bouquets💐
To acknowledge all of the incredible women in our lives, our educators prepared a flower market for the children to create their own bouquets.
This was wonderful opportunity for the children to create something special for their loved ones.

This week we celebrated Kirsty’s 10 year anniversary with us.

Today we celebrate the incredible mums, grandmothers, mother figures and special women who fill our children’s lives with love, guidance and unwavering support.

Thank you for the early mornings, the comforting cuddles, the bedtime stories and the countless invisible moments in between. Thank you for trusting us to be part of your child’s journey. It is a privilege we never take for granted.

To the women who nurture, encourage, teach and love so fiercely, we see you, we appreciate you and we celebrate you today and every day.

🌱 Our Little Gardeners in Action 🌱
Classroom 3 went on an exciting adventure to our Community Garden, where they continued to develop their understanding of the world around them and how we can care for our natural environment.
The children enjoyed helping to dig holes for the flowers, carefully placing them into the soil, and filling the garden bed with fresh earth. We finished our visit by giving the flowers a big drink of water.
We’re very excited for our next adventure, returning to check on our growing flowers! 🌸

🐧 World Penguin Day 🐧
As part of our exploration of animals around the world, the children in Classroom 5 enjoyed creating their own penguins using a variety of shaped paper cut-outs and cotton buds.
Throughout the experience, the children enthusiastically shared how they were making their penguins and discussed the unique features that penguins have compared to other birds.
