There’s nothing more powerful than a community rallying around one of its own 💛

At Golden Grove Primary School, students and staff have shown incredible compassion and generosity - all inspired by Ruby, who is bravely fighting leukaemia.

Together, they’ve raised funds for the Women’s and Children’s Hospital oncology ward - purchasing portable DVD players, donating food for visiting families, and even fun bandaids to make the kids’ day a little brighter.

When the school community shared their wish to see a smart screen for the ward’s hangout room, I was proud to help make it happen.

It was wonderful to visit with Poppy, Charlotte and Mr Fenton to see the screen in action - and deliver even more donations from this remarkable school community.

Dear Families,

We are excited to share the schedule of activities and performances for our upcoming Gather at the Grove twilight event (see below). Alongside the entertainment, there will be food trucks and First Nations businesses, with both card and cash payment available.

Today or tomorrow, your child will be bringing home their event passport. Here’s how it works:

-As students and families move around the stalls, they will collect clues to find different animals.
-Using the clues, students write the Kaurna word for each animal into the crossword inside their passport
- Once complete, the passport can be placed in the box at the Yarning Circle (near the library).

Attached to each passport is your child’s door ticket. By placing the completed passport and door ticket in the box, your child and family will go into the running to win a generous and beautiful door prize donated and created by Scott Rathman.

We can’t wait to see you at this special community celebration!

Fantastic to spend some time this evening at the Primary School Music Festival.

For over 130 years, this festival has been a rite of passage for South Australian students. Many who once were on stage now return as parents - and even grandparents - watching the next generation step proudly into the spotlight.

Some of the 8000 students participating this year are from Golden Grove Primary School who I grabbed a quick selfie with before they went on stage, as well as from Athelstone Primary, Salisbury Primary, Salisbury Heights Primary and Highbury Primary.

It's safe to say our new Pirate Ship was a big hit for its grand opening today!

We are thrilled to welcome Jodie and Hayesy to Golden Grove Primary School this Friday (August 22nd) to broadcast their NOVA 91.9 radio breakfast program!

Parents and children are welcome to join us from 7:00 am on the asphalt area, followed by our regular Book Week parade on the oval from 9:20 am. There will be a host of entertainment and activities for those who are able to join us in the morning.

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to NOVA 91.9 and the SupaNova team, as well as the support and generosity from:
