As my Bloom families are already aware, 2 weeks from now we will sadly be shutting our doors for a little while to focus on ourselves and our family.

Thank you to everyone who has entrusted me with loving and taking care of your children. You’ve taught me so much and for that I am forever grateful. I’ve loved watching your children with mine, watching their relationships grow and confidence build. This an experience I will cherish forever. Thank you for sharing it with us x

Omg using was FUN but messy!! If you think having them stuck in your teeth is bad, you should see what it does to your clothes and hair! 😅 Our friends have shown a huge interest in the garden over winter, so I decided to use the chia/water mix with green food colouring and hide bugs inside of it. They were given scoops and tongs to collect the bugs with, but obviously hands are better! Unless of course you’re scooping it into someone’s hair, then you obviously need the biggest scoop you can find!

We’ve been making some big changes while Ava sleeps off her sickness this weekend!
We now have 1 main play space instead of the whole house because well, MESS! And we will also have some special new additions to the backyard. Looking forward to sharing it with my friends 💕

STEM - Science, technology, engineering & maths. Mr A spent aaaaaaaaages with this activity. We used the air in the balloon to power the boat before experimenting with other methods. This experience was initially led by me, but quickly taken over by A. This is exactly why child led education is so important at this age. When we observe and extend upon children’s current interests and abilities we are able to provide meaningful opportunities for learning through play ❤️

A little bit of sunshine after a rainy couple of weeks was all the motivation our friends needed to get outside and use their imaginations today. No spoons, no worries. We use empty snail shells to scoop rainwater👌🤮🐌 Oh well, that’s I guess!

Loose parts are a HUGE hit with toddlers young and old. This tackle box filled with random bits and pieces from around the play space has managed to entertain these two for aaaaaaages. Loose parts play helps develop cognitive skills through sorting, fine motor, sensory and more. It also acts as mindfulness tool and can be used to ground and re centre a tired and grumpy child by bringing their focus and attention back into the present. Pieces this small require supervision for mouthing toddlers though ❤️

Bloom_fdc | The Pyjama Foundation

This Friday 23rd July is national pyjama day!!! To help raise funds for children in care around Australia, I’m asking my friends and families to donate to this worthy cause. Neil and I have fostered in the past and seen first hand how much these funds are desperately needed!
As I am not open on Fridays, please wear your favourite pj’s all week starting the 19th!
Looking forward to returning on Monday. I’ve missed you all ❤️
