The P&C has snuck in with a quick Facebook post before the long weekend while the school isn’t looking… 👀
Our GR8 Race fundraising total is sitting at an incredible $23,482, and we’ve decided to add one last BIG challenge!
💦 $30,000 = SOAK THE TEACHER IS UNLOCKED! 💦
If we can push that thermometer all the way to $30,000, things might be getting a little wet around Ormeau State School next Friday…
Our Top 3 Fundraisers will be guaranteed a chance to soak a teacher, PLUS every student who raises $50 or more will go into the draw for some an extra chances.
We’re only $6,518 away!
For now though… shhhhh. 🤫

And kids… when you get back to school on Monday, we’re letting you in on an EXTRA secret. 👀🤫

A huge thank you to all of the amazing businesses who sponsored and supported our Father’s Day Stall & Raffle, and of course to all of our wonderful families who purchased tickets and got behind it! 🥰
🎉 Congratulations to all of our raffle winners! 🎉
Messages have now been sent to all of our winners. Prizes will be sent home with students today, apart from the few winners who have been advised to collect their prize.
Our Father’s Day Raffle raised an incredible $2,065!
Every dollar raised through our P&C events goes straight back into supporting our school and our students.
Our big goal at the moment is working towards creating more usable, fun and engaging spaces for our senior students to enjoy — but there are always plenty of smaller projects, improvements and little extras that pop up along the way too.
It’s your support of our stalls, raffles, events and fundraisers that allows us to keep saying YES to more of those things.
And a special shout-out to Sam, our behind-the-scenes raffle coordinator! 🙌 Sam puts in a huge amount of time reaching out, organising and pulling together all of the amazing prizes that make our raffles possible. A lot of that work happens quietly in the background, so we want to make sure she gets a very well-deserved THANK YOU!

🏏 We’re bringing our old cricket pitch back to life!

With a small portion of our fundraising money, the P&C has approved a much-needed revamp of an area of our school that has been out of bounds for several years.
In fact, many of our current students have probably never seen this space as a working, usable cricket pitch.
When our students were given the opportunity to have their say about what they wanted for this space, they voted to bring the cricket pitch back — so that’s exactly what we’re doing, just in time for the Term 4 cricket season!
To help keep the cost of the project down, and allow us to continue saving towards another play space for our senior students, we’re calling on our school community for a little help.

Saturday 12 September & Sunday 13 September

We’re looking for around 3–5 volunteers to lend a hand across the weekend.
If you have experience with fencing, construction, trades or labouring, we would absolutely love to hear from you. But experience isn’t essential — if you’re practical, have a can-do attitude and are willing to put in a hard day’s work, we want you too!
Every hour of volunteer time helps us put more of our fundraising dollars directly back into projects for our kids.
