Don’t miss these important updates!
Farewell to the Mt Gravatt Aquatic and Fitness Centre.
After 13 wonderful years, Griffith University has formalised its decision to close the Mt Gravatt Aquatic and Fitness Centre. The Centre will officially cease operations on Friday 19 December 2025.
The Mt Gravatt Aquatic & Fitness Centre has been more than just a place to swim or train - it’s been a vibrant hub for students, staff, and the wider community. From swim lessons and fitness classes to school carnivals and community events, the Centre has been a part of thousands of lives and created lasting memories.
We understand this news brings disappointment, and we share in that sentiment. We do however also want to celebrate our staff from across the years, and the impact the Centre has had - thanks to the dedication of our people, and the support of our community.
To everyone who has walked through our doors: thank you. Your energy, enthusiasm, and loyalty have made this place truly special.
All members, swim pass holders and learn to swim families directly impacted by the closure have been contacted via email. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Due to changes with staff availability the operating hours of the Centre are changing. As of Tuesday 7 October our trading hours will be:
▪️ Monday - Thursday: 6am-7pm
▪️ Friday: 6am-6.30pm
▪️ Saturday: 7.30am-12pm
▪️ Sunday: 8am-3pm
Thank you again.
