For a long time, I thought investing more into my business was the answer.
And honestly, why wouldnāt I?
I loved my salon. It was my future
Every upgrade felt like progress. A better space. Better equipment. More capacity. More growth.
I thought I was building the business that would eventually give me more of what I wanted from life.
Then my twins arrived.
Four weeks postpartum, still healing, back at work
8 weeks in I had to stop.
And when I stopped, I didnāt just stop earning.
I lost everything Iād put into the business.
That was the part I wish Iād understood sooner.
I didnāt need to invest less in the business I loved.
I needed to understand that I could build something alongside it too.
Because when all of your income, your investment and your future sit inside one business that requires you to be thereā¦
life doesnāt have to be a disaster for that to become a problem.
You just have to reach a season where you canāt work the way you used to.
A baby.
Your health.
Your family.
A decision you make.
And suddenly, the thing you spent years building can stop building your future with you.
I wish Iād known there was another way before I needed it.
You can love your business and still build beyond it.
