This week we celebrated World Music Day, also known as La Fete de la Musique. Le Fete de la Musique celebrates music in all its forms, and the importance of music in peopleโs lives. It is celebrated annually on the 21st of June.
Music is loved all around the world, often bringing people together and spreading joy. World Music Day celebrates the positive power of music, by encouraging people to gather, play their instruments, dance and sing together.
Junior Kindy celebrated World Music Day by making their own instruments using a range of new and recycled materials.
The children made drums, shakers and guitars using rubber bands, recycled bowls and lids, paper plates, rice and paints.
This experience allowed the children to use imaginative and creative ideas in their play and to sing rhymes and songs.
