Step inside the Brumbies Emerging Athlete Program 💪

Designed for A.B. Paterson College’s top 20 athletes, this elite development pathway goes beyond training. In partnership with the Gold Coast Performance Centre, students gain access to expert coaching in nutrition, performance testing, recovery, injury prevention and cutting-edge sports science technology.

From physio strapping and recovery sessions to data-driven performance insights, every element is designed to help our athletes perform at their best and reach their full potential.

From the outstanding assembly hosted by Mackellar House to the creativity and imagination on display during Book Week, this term has been filled with memorable moments, laughter, and plenty of school spirit.

Masks on, magic unlocked. Our annual Prep Ball was a masquerade to remember, filled with laughter, dancing and memories our youngest learners will treasure for years to come. 💚

Thank you to every family who joined us and embraced the theme with such creative costumes and masks. A special mention must go to our Prep teachers, whose costumes were nothing short of spectacular!

Our thanks also to FAB for a delicious dinner, and to our incredible Year 11 volunteers, who dressed up, danced alongside our Prep students and brought fantastic energy to the evening. ⭐

Australia's first Defence Investment Conference invited one school. Ours.

At REVEILLE 2026, our students stood alongside industry leaders, innovators and investors for a day inside the conversations shaping Defence, space, AI and the technologies still being built.

They asked the questions. They held their own in a room of people decades into careers our students are only beginning to imagine. The feedback on their professionalism, curiosity and engagement was outstanding, and we could not be prouder of the way they represented A.B. Paterson College.

Thank you to Steve Baxter, Peta Ellis, Beaten Zone Venture Partners and the REVEILLE team for an opportunity our students will carry with them.

Nearly 300 words of Banjo Paterson, delivered entirely from memory.

Congratulations to Thane, winner of this year's A.B. Paterson College Poetry Competition and recipient of the Councillor Joe Wilkinson Award.

Around 150 Year 5 and 6 students were eligible, with only 18 progressing to the final round, where Thane took on 'Mulga Bill's Bicycle' and brought every rhyme, every character and all of its very Australian humour to life.

There is something fitting about an A.B. Paterson student performing Banjo Paterson so well.

Thank you to Councillor Joe Wilkinson for his generous recognition and continued support of a competition that builds confidence, creativity and a real love of literature. Congratulations to every student who stepped onto that stage.

🏆📖 Congratulations Thane!

A huge congratulations to Thane on being named the winner of this year's A.B. Paterson College Poetry Competition!

With around 150 Year 5 and 6 students eligible to participate, competition was fierce, with only 18 students progressing to the final round. Thane took on the challenge of performing Banjo Paterson's ‘Mulga Bill's Bicycle’.

While Committee commitments prevented me from attending this year's presentation I’ve been told that not only did he memorise the poem's almost 300 words, but he delivered it with confidence, expression and a remarkable understanding of its distinctly Australian humour and storytelling.

From the fast-paced rhymes to the colourful language and larger-than-life character of Mulga Bill, Thane brought the poem to life in a way that impressed judges and audience members alike. His maturity and ability to capture the wit, adventure and timeless lessons woven throughout this iconic Australian poem were particularly impressive. An outstanding achievement and one that should make him incredibly proud.

I'm pleased to continue supporting this wonderful poetry competition, which encourages confidence, creativity and a love of literature in our young people.

Again, well done Thane and congratulations to all students who took part! 👏

One kilometre. Every day. For a month. That was the whole idea behind Race for Kids, and our community ran with it.

Through May - students, staff, families and supporters walked, ran and moved a kilometre a day for two causes close to home. A simple habit, repeated. And it added up to something extraordinary.

$33,442 raised in the event's first year.

Split evenly, $16,721 each, between the Gold Coast Hospital Foundation and the A.B. Paterson College Foundation. One share will help enhance the local hospital's Children's Inpatient Unit, including a new day-program space for young people with complex needs. The other goes towards a future Student Wellness Centre in Secondary School.

Proof that small things, done together, done daily, become big things.

Here's to next May.
