Jungle Gems Early Learning Centre

As a part of Reconciliation Week our Gems explored the importance of respecting Country, connecting with nature, and caring for the land and waterways around us. 🌿💛

Through meaningful conversations and hands-on learning, the children developed a deeper understanding of the natural world around them and learnt how we can all play a part in caring for our environment today and for future generations.

We are proud to support the children in building respect, empathy, and a lifelong connection to Country as well as helping them to strengthen their understanding of how people are connected to Country. 🖤💛❤️

This week some of our Giraffes enjoyed a visit to the local Melody Park Retirement Village 💛

There were big smiles, warm conversations, and plenty of special moments shared between generations. The children enjoyed chatting, singing, and simply spending time together. It’s safe to say the residents loved every minute just as much as we did.

These visits are so meaningful for everyone involved, helping build confidence, kindness and connection in our little learners while brightening the day of our wonderful community friends 🦒✨

Term 2 has begun and Ball skills are back with Mr Kale 🎉
Today the children jumped straight into catching practice and showed fantastic focus, enthusiasm and teamwork. So great to see everyone engaged, active and smiling again! ⚽️👏

Our centre has been full of Easter fun, giggles, a visit from the Easter Bunny and a few cheeky chocolate smiles this week! 🐣🍫

Wishing all our families a day filled with joy, laughter and time with loved ones.

👮‍♀️🐕 Special visitors at Jungle Gems!

We were lucky to have members of the Australian Federal Police visit our kindy this week, organised by one of our special kindy mums. The team spoke with the children about how to stay safe and what to do if they ever get lost.

The highlight of the visit was meeting Georgia, a technology detection sniffer dog, who amazed everyone by finding a hidden mobile phone and USB on the playground! 🐾

The children also loved trying on Federal Police uniforms, which was very exciting.

A big thank you to Claire and the rest of the AFP team for taking the time to share such important safety messages with our children. 🚔

Today marks Bulgaria’s liberation day and our very own Miss Greta celebrated the occasion by dressing in traditional clothing and sharing information about her native country and culture with our Gems. The children were fascinated with Greta’s beautiful costume and joined in the fun of some traditional dancing. Thank you for sharing your culture with us Miss Greta!

The Giraffes from Jungle Gems enjoyed their very first visit for 2026 to Melody Park Aged Care Facility 🦒💛

Our Giraffes were excited to spend time with the elderly residents, building beautiful intergenerational connections. Together they listened to a story, created amazing constructions with magnetic tiles and drew special pictures to give to the residents.
There were smiles all around as friendships were formed and conversations flowed. These visits are such a meaningful way for our children to learn about kindness, empathy and community.
We are already looking forward to our next visit! 💕
