That was a rewarding Sunday for Robina Toastmasters at the Area 6 Contest!

We had a good turnout of members helping the contest run smoothly in their various roles:, one of the Contest Judges (thank you Lou), Contest Chair for the Table Topics Speech Contest (thank you Michael), Tally Counter (thank you Ryan), contribution to catering (thank you Zeb) and support crew (thank you Mihoko and Andrew). The contestants gave 100% and the results speak for themselves!

A huge congratulations to Keith for winning the Table Topics contest, with his own personal story for “The moment I knew…”.

And to Ryan for giving the speech at the Humorous contest describing his life enhancing experience with the Korean police, a truly unique true story, which delivered engaging, humorous content for the audience members. He achieved 2nd place.

At the Evaluation Contest, Jeff delivered a comprehensive evaluation of the test speech, taking home 3rd place!

Congratulations to Zeb, who delivered a provoking and thoughtful speech, based on his consideration of his priorities in light of challenges in a boating adventure in Vietnam, came 3rd in the International Contest.

Keith will go on to represent Area 6 at the Southern Division contest in March 2027. Right now, all contestants and members can reflect on the achievements at the Area 6 contests and the contests leading to it!,

Well done, Robina Toastmasters!

The theme for our meeting last week was “Passing the Torch”, with Steve Cameron as our Toastmaster of the evening.

We enjoyed engaging speeches from Steven Sedgman, Alan Oberstein, and Lou Cervetto, supported by thoughtful evaluations from Mihoko Harrison, Peter Haigh, and Keith Howden.

A special highlight of the evening was the Induction of Officers for the 2026/27 Toastmasters year, led by Ann Yates, as we officially welcomed our new committee. We also heard an inspiring address from our incoming President, Zeb Brown, as he shared his vision for the year ahead.

Congratulations to our incoming committee, and thank you to everyone who has contributed to another successful Toastmasters year. We look forward to an exciting year of growth, leadership, and communication.
