Here’s what some your dancing friends get up to in their spare time. The Coasties Team routine performed at the recent Ignite QMJC. Now we say ‘Coasties’ but if you look closely, you’ll see our Brisbane contingent and a couple of dancing friends from Sydney! Go team.

Routines are a lot of fun and really helps you get an understanding of timing and musicality – shameless plug for our upcoming Halloween Routine which is being taught over the next 4 Tuesday nights in time for our Halloween Party on Friday, 30 October.

PRO-AM SHOWCASE – Ignite QMJC 2026
Mike Thomas & Emma K-Dance

Emma is the backbone of Le Step GC and she and Mike teamed up to have some fun, just coz they could. Their goal: put something together that they could be proud of and enjoy playing with some choreography in this ProAm Showcase category where a teacher dances with their student. Enjoy their playful routine and hopefully it makes you smile as much as they did putting it together. Performing it on a floor to a crowd is daunting but ticks the box on a whole new level.

Leave a comment below if you enjoyed what they put together.

PRO-AM SHOWCASE – Ignite QMJC 2026
Quentin Lovett & Kimalyse Barth

Quentin is no stranger to our classes as a regular Modern Jive teacher and many of you have seen and danced with Kimalyse on a Friday night. They put their efforts into 90 seconds of choreography for the ProAm Showcase category where a teacher dances with their student and they definitely put some sass onto the floor. Song choice was by Kimalyse to ensure she got the right to put Quentin on notice. It takes courage to get out there and put yourself in the spotlight.

Check out their attitude in the is very entertaining piece and make sure you leave them your thoughts in the comments.

PRO-AM SHOWCASE – Ignite QMJC 2026
Robert Little & Phoebe Collins

Most of you know Rob and who’s one of our teachers but even if you don’t, you should check this out. He partnered the lovely Phoebe (who is new to our Modern Jive classes) in the ProAm Showcase category which is where a student dances with their teacher to a song they chose for 90 seconds of choreography. Rob & Phoebe placed 2nd and took home some nice silver bling for their efforts. The medals are great but the value is in seeing the work they put on the floor.

Enjoy this video and make sure you leave them a note in the comments.
