Welcome back to semester 173! Next Sunday, the Bond University Japanese Society will be assisting the Consulate General of Japan, Brisbane and the Japan Film Festival in screening our SECOND Japan Film Festival at Pacific Fair!

3 free Japanese movies will be screened at Pacific Fair on the 24th of September, 2017.

今日、８月１５日は戦後７２年（昭和２０年）となる終戦記念日です。Today marks 72 years since the end of the second world war　（太平洋戦争＊大東亜戦争） in Japan. On this day, we remember all of those who not only fought for their nation, but those who had also lost their lives in defence of their nation. Let a terrible tragedy such as this never be repeated and let us never take this peace （平和）we have experienced for granted.

Week 13 News -> 平成２９年８月

1. Thank you and ありがとう to all of you who attended our BUJS Picnic at the sunny Hinze Dam, we hope you enjoyed the lamingtons provided! Our final event for this semester is our BUJS Dinner, more of which will be posted soon.

2. BUJS is recruiting （ボンド大学日本人会募集中です！） for semester 173. If you would like to join our committee, please send us a message!

3. Also, next Thursday, a group of Japanese high school students will be coming to Bond; if you want to talk to some Japanese students and make some money ($50) for 90 minutes of your time, fill out this form below!

4. On a more serious note, today, the 9th of August is the day in which the atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki City. We remember the thousands of innocent lives which were lost through this terrible event.
