Palliative care professionals give so much of themselves in supporting others through some of life’s most challenging moments. But their own wellbeing matters too.
This session will explore the role of compassion satisfaction awareness in supporting the wellbeing and sustainability of the palliative care workforce. Because caring for those who care is an essential part of compassionate care.

Compassion satisfaction.
That feeling of knowing your work matters.
The moment a patient says thank you.
The student finally understands.
The family feels supported.
The person you helped takes their next step.
Those moments matter.
Supporting wellbeing isn't only about reducing what's draining us.
It's also about protecting and strengthening what gives our work meaning.

This week at ZestAgain, we’re feeling both proud and deeply grateful. On Saturday 5 September, we’ll be sharing our learning at the University of Queensland Compassion Symposium, highlighting the insights gained from supporting the compassion satisfaction and wellbeing of 356 palliative care clinicians across Queensland.
This work has been one of the most meaningful chapters in our journey at ZestAgain. Palliative care clinicians carry extraordinary emotional weight — often quietly, often without pause — and yet they continue to show up with tenderness, skill, and humanity. Supporting their wellbeing has reminded us again and again that caring is powerful, but it is also demanding. And when teams are given space to reflect on that reality, something shifts.

You can care deeply and still need boundaries.
And asking for help doesn't mean you're failing.
It means you're human.

You can find meaning in your work and still need a break.
You can experience compassion satisfaction and compassion fatigue at the same time.
Your exhaustion doesn't erase your purpose.

You don't always need more time. Sometimes, you need a moment to pause.
Mindfulness is not about escaping your busy life. It is about learning to be present within it.
A few intentional minutes each day can help you slow down, notice what you are feeling, reconnect with yourself, and respond instead of simply reacting.
Join the ZestAgain 21-Day Mindfulness Challenge starting September 1.
21 days. Simple daily practices. A chance to pause, reflect, and reconnect.
