🎨 BOOK WEEK COLOURING-IN COMPETITION 🎨

To celebrate 🎶 Symphony of Stories 🎶 Children's Book Week 2026, we're inviting all students to take part in our Book Week Colouring-In Competition.

Let your creativity shine as you bring stories to life with colour, imagination, and artistic flair!

🖍️ Competition runs for 2 weeks 🏆 One winner from each grade will be selected

If you want to take part, you can collect your colouring sheet in from your classroom teacher, from the tuckshop, from the P&C office or even download and print from our social page.

Colouring in MUST be handed back to P&C office by Thursday 20th August. BSHS art teachers will select the winners from each grade.

Winners will receive an amazing gift pack filled with: • Colouring supplies • Books • Stationery • And much more!

📢 Winners will be announced at our Book Week Parade on 25 August, so be sure to put your best effort into your masterpiece.

Get Ready to get colourful with our Benowa State School P&C Monty the Monstar Fun Run!

This term we are bringing the excitement with a Monty the Monstar Fun Run, Last year we fundraised to go towards the PREP playground. This year it is the Seniors turn. All profits raised will go towards upgrading the Senior Playground.

Getting involved is super easy—just head to: www.myprofilepage.com.au, set up a profile, and share it with family and friends for online donations. Kids can earn awesome prizes and collect Monty Coins as they go!

To start the fun, the class with the most Fun Run profiles by Thursday 6th August will receive an Ice Block party on Friday 7th August.

Also, raise just $10 to unlock your first prize—and the more you raise, the more prizes you can mix, match, and choose! You can even donate your fundraising to one of six great causes.

Tickets will be available for purchase tonight at the door - $5 each (EFTPOS only)
(Snack packs will not be available with tickets purchased tonight).

Note: Please do not bring additional food or glow sticks along to the disco due to health and safety reasons.

Junior Disco (Prep – Year 2) 🕓 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Parents are welcome to stay on site but are encouraged not to remain in the disco room.

Senior Disco (Years 3 – 6) 🕠 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Parents are not permitted in the disco room.

Happy last day of Term 2!

The P&C is excited to coordinate a school disco for Thursday 30 July in our school hall. There would be 2 disco events in the one night.
Prep -Grade 2 disco for 1 hour (4:00pm-5:00pm)
Grades 3-6 disco for 1.5h (5:30pm-7:00pm)

To make this event possible by the P&C, we will need 10 volunteers to coordinate the event.
Volunteers may be asked to do the following:
-Some planning discussions prior to the event
-Bump in preparations on the day preparing the hall from 11.45am
-Running the disco (food distribution, checking who has paid etc)

Support on the night:
On the night of the school disco there would be a number of groups also supporting in the following ways:

External entertainment company -Will be responsible for all music and coordinate of the actual disco activities.

School leadership team -Will be overseeing safety and security roles around the school, toilets, entry points and ensuring students are safely collected by parents at the end of the program.

YMCA OSHC -Will be overseeing the ‘chill out zone’ created on the outside of the hall in a cordoned off area

The P&C Executives -Will be there on the night to help coordinate the management of the Disco proceedings inside the hall including:
-Food and beverages
-Lollys
-Prizes
-Decorations
-Ticket sales and attendance lists
-Collection of funds

Volunteers Needed
If we are unable to secure 10 volunteers by Wednesday 15 July, unfortunately the disco will not be able to go ahead.

If you are able to help, please complete the volunteer registration form below.Your support will help to make this a fun and memorable event for our students.

Further details will be provided once we know that the event can go ahead with enough volunteers.
