Hands on Data Collection in Year 1 - Ping Pong Bounce, Trash Ball and Bean Bag Toss. Students used tally marks to record the scores, then created picture graphs to display the data.
I believe authenticity in education plays a vital role in quality teaching and learning.
I'm passionate about raising kind, caring and active young learners who know how to advocate for themselves, champion others and make a positive impact on the world.

The joy of painting! Using watercolours to create a ‘sky’ painting - either something you see in the sky or from the perspective of being in the sky and looking down. We had rainbows, sunsets, clouds, birds, and the beach, trees and the park from above. I love seeing students being creative.
Musical Tracing Maps by are a big hit for calming and brain breaks. Students follow along with their eyes, finger and some even with their whole head! Once expectations are established and consistently demonstrated, scarves will be introduced.

We started Explore Time, where students engage in a selection of hands on consolidation activities. It’s a great way to incorporate fun, hands on learning on a Friday afternoon. ‘Fun Friday’ that is purposeful.

For Random Acts of Kindness Week, my favourite kindness cultivator read ‘Be Kind’ to my class, and they were fascinated that she was around the world in Virginia, USA. Tamara is the author of “A Passion For Kindness: Making the World a Better Place to Lead, Love and Learn” and we are grateful she was able to share her passion for kindness with us. She left us with a kindness challenge, and today was also the first time Fluffy The Kindness Cow went home for a visit, so hopefully we start creating ripples of kindness around us.

The first ACELQ Pivotal People Gold Coast collective learning session for the year took place last week.
The session brought together middle leaders and aspiring middle leaders from across sectors and settings, including junior, middle, senior and tertiary contexts. With one of the strongest turnouts in recent years, the gathering reflected a growing appetite for professional learning that strengthens connectedness, shared language, and leadership capacity across our profession.
We extend our sincere thanks to all who attended and contributed so thoughtfully. The spirit of the session was one of sharing, not comparing, and the interactive components enabled purposeful conversations, practical reflection, and tangible next steps, including the ongoing work of mapping and strengthening our professional champion ecosystem.
A special thank you to Tami Creasey from Varsity College, Australia for leading the session with clarity and care, and for reminding us that champions do not take our weight, they help us carry it better. We also acknowledge and thank Elizabeth Foster the ACEL Australia President for joining us and investing wholeheartedly in our shared endeavours.
Thank you for hosting us.

I love a good gallery walk for fostering curiosity and conversation! This resource was the perfect way to introduce our History unit, prompting wonderings and questions, and generating interest in the learning.

We are learning about positional language and students used playdoh to demonstrate their understanding.
