Our enthusiastic and friendly educators provide children with a wide array of fun and educational learning opportunities. Come along and see for yourself!

This page exists as a communication tool for our families- 'like' this page to receive information about exciting up and coming events and activities happening within our centre, photos, artwork samples, promotions and more. This page will also assist our fabulous educators in liaising with the wider community and enable us to advertise ourselves to families who are new to the area and who are looking for quality care. We would also like to invite Educators from other Centres to view our page, share their ideas and even come in to visit us if you ever have the time. Creative Garden Arundel is a long day care service located amongst a beautiful bush setting on the Northern end of the sunny Gold Coast. Our lush surroundings enable the children in our care to experience their natural world on a day to day basis, often coming in to contact with butterflies, birds, lizards and more. Here at Creative Garden Arundel, we have embraced the Early Years Learning Framework and aim to encourage all children to:

*Be an effective communicator in a friendly, relaxed environment. We are open 52 weeks of the year from 6.30am-6.30pm, excluding public holidays and weekends. Our centre provide all delicious and nutritious meals, as well as nappies for your little one. Our centre is registered for Child Care Subsidy and the Subsidy can reduce the out of pocket costs for eligible families. We are committed to providing safe environments for our children, families, teams and communities to learn and connect. This extends to our online platforms. Our Off-Site Emergency Evacuation Drill

This morning, we practised our off-site emergency evacuation procedures as a whole Centre. We held the drill in the morning while both our older and younger children were together in the Centre 1 playground.

The older children were excited about leaving the Centre and were especially keen to look for the sheep we had seen last time. We hoped they would be in their paddock again!

As this was a practice drill, we made sure everyone had been to the toilet and had their shoes on before we began. We then moved into our classrooms with our teachers to get ready.

Our Babies and Toddlers travelled safely in the safety cots. They enjoyed looking around as we walked, watching the cars go by and spotting the flowers and trees along the way. The older children lined up in pairs, while our Junior Kindy children held onto a safety rope to help them stay together.

Once everyone was ready, we left the Centre and made our way down the street to our off-site emergency evacuation area. Along the way, we spotted many beautiful, colourful flowers and, much to everyone's excitement, five sheep resting under the trees in the paddock!

When we returned to the Centre, everyone enjoyed a big drink of water and some morning tea after our busy walk.

It was a great opportunity for the children and educators to practise our emergency procedures together and learn how to safely move as a group.

💙 Happy Father’s Day to all our wonderful Dads! 💙

Today we celebrate the amazing dads, grandfathers, stepdads, father figures and special people who play such an important role in the lives of our children.

Thank you for the cuddles, the laughter, the encouragement, the patience and all the little moments that mean so much. Your love, support and presence help children feel safe, confident and deeply loved. 🥰

We are so grateful for the wonderful role models you are and for the memories you create with your children each and every day.

🌟 Happy Educators’ Day! 🌟

We celebrate and give thanks to the incredible educators who make such a meaningful difference in the lives of children every single day. ❤️

Educators do so much more than teach. They nurture, encourage, listen, inspire, comfort and guide. They create safe spaces where children feel valued, supported and confident to learn, explore and discover who they are.

We are incredibly grateful for the patience, dedication, creativity and love our educators bring to their work each day. The relationships they build and the memories they create can stay with children for a lifetime.

To every educator — thank you for believing in our children, celebrating their little victories, supporting them through challenges and helping them grow into confident, capable and caring individuals.

📚✨ Book Week at Creative Garden Arundel! ✨📚

What a wonderful week of imagination, stories and creativity! Our children and educators at Creative Garden Arundel dressed up as their favourite book characters and brought the magic of books to life. 🥰📖

From superheroes to storybook favourites, we loved seeing everyone’s amazing costumes and celebrating the joy of reading together! 🌈💫

🌟🎉 What an Amazing Vacation Care Program! 🎉🌟

As our Vacation Care program comes to an end, Miss Rosie gathered the children together to reflect on all the fun they had and to start planning for the next school holidays.

The children shared so many wonderful ideas for future Vacation Care experiences, and it was fantastic to hear their creative suggestions. We have written down all of their ideas and are excited to see which ones make it into our next school holiday program.

Over the holidays, the children created so many special memories. Some of their favourite experiences included clay creations, bracelet making, Scooter and Bike Day, face painting, pizza making, and so much more! It has been wonderful to see their creativity, friendships, confidence, and smiles grow throughout the program.

At Creative Garden Arundel, we believe children's voices matter, and we love involving them in planning experiences that reflect their interests and ideas.

🌿🐛 Bush Kindy Adventures at Creative Garden Arundel 🐛🌿

Today, our Babies, Toddlers, and Junior Kindy children came together for a wonderful shared play session at Bush Kindy, filled with discovery, creativity, and hands-on learning.

One of the highlights of the morning was creating beautiful nature bracelets. Using sticky tape wrapped around their wrists, the children collected treasures from nature to decorate their bracelets. Ms. Flor and Ms. Shadana demonstrated the activity, showing the children how to carefully add leaves, flowers, grass, and tiny seeds. The children eagerly explored Bush Kindy, searching high and low for natural materials to include. Their faces beamed with excitement as they proudly exclaimed, "Oh, flower!" when they found colourful blooms to add to their creations.

The adventure didn't stop there! What better place to search for wiggly worms than Bush Kindy? Under a large log, the children discovered a big, healthy worm. They watched with fascination as it wriggled through the soil, giggling as it moved and bravely reaching out to gently touch it with their little fingers. Together, we learned that worms love cool, damp, dark places, making underneath the log the perfect home for our new little friend.

These meaningful experiences encouraged the children to develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world, strengthen their creativity and independence, practise listening and following instructions, and build confidence through exploration and discovery. 🍃💚

🧪🔬 Science Explorers at Creative Garden Arundel! 🌈✨

Today our curious learners became little scientists as they explored a variety of hands-on experiments that encouraged observation, prediction and discovery.

Our first experiment investigated how oil and water interact. We filled a large jar with vegetable oil and used droppers to add coloured water. The children watched with fascination as the colourful droplets travelled through the oil. Truong noticed that the drops stayed perfectly round as they sank, while some rested on top of the oil before making their journey down. Everyone enjoyed taking turns using the droppers, with some children challenging themselves to use both hands and create two colours at once!

This experiment introduced the children to the concepts of density and surface tension. Because water is denser than oil, it sinks through the oil, and the water molecules cling together to form tiny spheres.

Our second science investigation began with a special bicarbonate painting activity. Using paintbrushes, the children created invisible artworks with a bicarbonate and water mixture. It was quite a challenge because they couldn't easily see where they had painted! Once dry, we'll reveal the hidden pictures by painting over them with a turmeric solution, creating an exciting colour-changing chemical reaction. While the artwork won't last, the process is sure to spark plenty of wonder and conversation.

We also explored the ever-popular Magic Milk experiment using soy milk and food colouring. The children carefully added drops of colour and observed as they slowly spread, swirled and mixed together. With each movement of the container, beautiful patterns appeared before eventually blending into a rich purple. This prompted wonderful discussions about colours, mixing and what happens when different colours combine.

These engaging science experiences encouraged the children to ask questions, make observations, develop fine motor skills and discover that learning through play is full of exciting surprises! 💙🧪🌈

🌺 Learning with Josh from Mabigal Torres Strait at Creative Garden Arundel 🌺

We have been so fortunate to welcome Josh from Mabigal Torres Strait on several occasions, giving our children the opportunity to learn about the rich culture, language, music, and traditions of the Torres Strait Islands through engaging, hands-on experiences.

Throughout his visits, Josh has introduced us to words from the Torres Strait Islander languages, teaching us greetings such as "hello" and "good morning" through fun games, as well as words including Malu (ocean), Dhangal (dugong), Waru (turtle), and Yawo (goodbye). The children were fascinated as they explored picture cards and learned how language connects people to Country, Sea Country, and culture.

Music has also been a wonderful way for us to connect with Josh's culture. The children explored traditional instruments, including the Warup (drum), Kulap (seed shakers), and Marap (a bamboo instrument that creates the sound of thunder and lightning). They eagerly took turns playing the instruments and keeping rhythm together.

Josh shared stories about his family's home, Poruma (Coconut Island), and taught us songs in both English and the local language, including a special coconut song and the much-loved Taba Naba. We even sang Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes in both English and the language of Poruma, giving the children a meaningful introduction to another language through music.

During our dance session, the children learned a traditional dance that told the story of going out on the boat to fish. They followed Josh's movements, listened carefully for the leader's call of "Hup!" to change movements, and even had opportunities to be the dance leader themselves. The children thoroughly enjoyed moving their bodies while learning about storytelling through dance.

These experiences have been a wonderful way to build the children's understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up Australia. We are incredibly grateful to Josh for generously sharing his knowledge, language, music, and traditions with us, creating meaningful learning experiences that the children have embraced with enthusiasm.

🌿🌎 International Mud Day at Creative Garden Arundel! 🌎🌿

Today we celebrated International Mud Day with a morning full of messy, hands-on fun in our mud kitchen!

Our first activity was creating mud pies. The children collected natural materials such as leaves and sticks, gathered mud from the mud pit, and mixed it with water to create the perfect base for their delicious-looking creations. They carefully decorated their mud pies, proudly showing off their imaginative masterpieces.

Next, the children became little artists by making their own mud paint. Using shovels, they scooped mud into containers, added small amounts of water, and mixed it together before using paintbrushes to create their muddy artwork on the grass and fence. Throughout the experience, the children demonstrated wonderful turn-taking, sharing, and teamwork as they painted alongside their friends, strengthening their social connections.

As the mud became wonderfully squishy, the fun continued! The children covered their hands in mud to make "mud gloves," created handprints on their own shirts and their educators' shirts, and enjoyed a lively game of chasing each other with muddy hands. Their smiles, laughter, and excitement showed just how much they embraced the joy of messy play.

Messy play like this supports children's creativity, sensory exploration, problem-solving, and social development while encouraging a strong connection with the natural environment.
