A Book Week Throwback! ✨

What a wonderful week of celebrating the magic of books and storytelling! 💛

Our children and educators had so much fun dressing up as their favourite book characters and bringing stories to life. Throughout the week, we also worked together on lots of exciting book-themed group projects, creating opportunities to share ideas, explore stories and learn alongside one another.

Reading in the early years is so much more than enjoying a good story. It supports children’s language and communication, builds vocabulary, encourages imagination and creativity and helps children develop an understanding of themselves and the world around them. Most importantly, sharing books creates meaningful opportunities for children and educators to connect, talk, wonder and learn together.

Our Book Week experiences supported EYLF Learning Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators, as children engaged with stories, explored language, shared their ideas and expressed themselves creatively.

It also connects with National Quality Standard Quality Area 5 – Relationships with children, through the warm, responsive interactions and shared experiences that happen when educators and children explore books together.

Protecting little people, both in our care and online.

At Goodstart Early Learning, safeguarding children is at the heart of everything we do. Keeping children safe means protecting their wellbeing, privacy and identity, both within our centre and in the digital world.

As part of our ongoing commitment to child safety and safeguarding, we’re moving towards a faceless approach across our social media platforms. We will continue to share and celebrate the incredible learning and experiences happening within our centre, while being more mindful about protecting children from being identifiable online - strengthening our safeguarding practices.

We will focus on little hands creating, exploring and learning, beautiful environments, meaningful experiences, children’s creations and the moments that make early learning so special ✨

🦉🌿 A very special visitor at Goodstart Currumbin Waters!

We’ve been lucky enough to have a beautiful Tawny Frogmouth make its home in one of the trees in our yard! 💚

For our children, it’s been such a wonderful experience to check in each day, quietly observe our feathered friend and watch as it rests amongst the branches.

The children have even been busy coming up with some very special name options! 🥰 Their suggestions include Tim, Rumi, Owl Queen, Zoe, Ollie, Salla and Ruby🦉✨

Moments like these create meaningful opportunities for children to connect with nature, share their ideas, develop curiosity and learn about the incredible wildlife right here in our own backyard.

🧊🔨 Cool sensory fun at Goodstart Currumbin Waters! 🦺✨

Our little learners enjoyed a hands-on sensory experience using large ice balls and construction tools to chip, tap, break and discover what was hiding inside!

As the ice slowly changed, the children experimented with different tools and techniques, building their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration, persistence and understanding of cause and effect💙

Creating a safe sleep environment is one of the many ways we care for children each day. From following safe sleep practices and using approved cots, to completing visual checks every 5 minutes, our educators take every step to help children rest safely and comfortably.

We also work closely with families to understand each child's individual sleep routine, because feeling safe, settled and well-rested helps children learn, grow and thrive.

💜 Safe sleep is everyone's responsibility, and it's always a priority.

🚑 A very special visit to Goodstart Early Learning Currumbin Waters! ❤️

Our children had the most exciting, hands-on learning experience when one of our amazing parents, Lindsay, brought an ambulance in for a special visit!

The children loved exploring the ambulance, learning about the different equipment and resources paramedics use, and even having the opportunity to try some of it out themselves.

It was such a fun and engaging experience that brought learning to life and sparked lots of curiosity, questions and excitement!

A very special thank you to Lindsay and his two sons for being our wonderful helpers and sharing their time, knowledge and ambulance with us. We are so grateful!

Yesterday, we celebrated the incredible educators who show up each day with passion, patience and dedication to help little minds learn, grow and thrive ✨
