So, what does play-based learning actually mean? 🧸

It’s learning through the things children naturally love to do - playing, exploring, creating, asking questions and making discoveries.

Rather than separating “learning” and “play”, play-based learning brings the two together.

- A child building with blocks might be developing problem-solving skills.

- A pretend game might build language and social skills.

- Creating with paint can encourage creativity and fine motor development.

To children, it’s play. To educators, it’s an opportunity to learn, grow and discover 💛

That’s the beauty of play-based learning at Bonny Babes.

Learning happens in the little moments 🖍️

A simple mark-making experience provides valuable opportunities for children to develop their pre-writing and fine motor skills, strengthen hand and finger muscles, practise pencil control and build confidence as they explore different ways of creating and expressing themselves.

Play might look simple, but for children, it’s anything but! 🧩

Every game, conversation, creation and little challenge is an opportunity to learn something new.

Through everyday play, children develop skills like problem-solving, communication, social confidence, creativity and emotional regulation - all while doing something they genuinely enjoy.

At Bonny Babes, we believe learning doesn’t always look like sitting at a desk. Sometimes, it looks like building a tower, making up a story, negotiating whose turn it is or getting completely lost in imaginative play.

Because play is learning. And every little moment matters 💛
