The Audition Process empowers students to follow their dreams…helping creatives discover their own unique ‘voice’ and assist in the development of a professional skill set that aligns creatives with their chosen performing arts path. WE OFFER CAREER ASSESSMENTS FOR THOSE LOOKING TO GET INTO THE PERFORMING ARTS, whether it be FILM, TV or THEATRE. Soo many questions. We offer years of Industry based experience, knowledge and pathways that help point you in the right direction. A very funny Actor/Comedian once said “Be so good they can’t ignore you.”

But it’s important to remember that we are who we ‘choose’ to be…Be a good person, but don’t waste time trying to prove it, be a kind person and spend all
your time showing it…therein lies the true meaning of success!

🎬 AUDITION ALERT! 🇺🇸

Bridie has just received her SECOND audition request for an exciting international production — this time for a supporting lead role! 👏🏼

Bridie has been coming to me every week since the beginning of the year for her American Accent training and Screen Acting classes, and it’s so exciting to see her commitment and hard work paying off. Her accent has become so much stronger and more natural, allowing her to focus on what really matters…character, emotion and performance.

Yesterday we worked meticulously through her audition scenes and got her self-tape ready for her agent’s submission.

I’m so very proud of you, Bridie! 👏👏You did an amazing job.

Now we wait… and get ready for the next audition! 🎬 Because our training teaches us that every audition is an opportunity to put yourself in front of casting directors, and then keep moving forward…You never know which opportunity might open the next door. 🚪✨

REAL auditions. REAL experience. REAL fun! ✨

Last night, six of our students had the fantastic opportunity to work on a TVC audition request right here in class!

It’s such a great feeling watching them put what they’ve been learning into practice…from understanding the brief, preparing their performance and creating their self-tapes, to actually experiencing what the audition process is really like.

And yes… we had LOTS of fun along the way! 🎬

🎬 Adult On-Screen Acting Classes 🎬

Whether you’re new to acting, getting back into it, or looking for somewhere to continue your training, our Thursday night adult classes are a great way to get in front of the camera and build your skills.

Classes are practical and hands-on, working on scenes, character development, audition skills and on-camera performance, with plenty of opportunities to film, watch it back and take direction.

All levels are welcome and you can join us for the term or simply come along and try a casual class.

Thursdays: 7:15pm–8:45pm
Palm Beach Community Centre, Palm Beach QLD
Casual class $40
(Classes run in line with the Queensland school term calendar.)

‘SHOW WITHOUT SAYING’

One of our favourite exercises in class at the moment, for all our age groups, is “Show Without Saying.”

The challenge? No dialogue. No explaining. No telling us what you’re feeling.

Students are given an emotion… and then, without warning, another is called, and then another…and so on!!

Happy. Angry. Nervous. Excited. Sad. Confident. Confused. Frustrated... etc

And they have to switch.

Not just pretend to feel something different, but explore what happens in their body, their face, their eyes, their breath and their energy when the emotion changes.

And the really valuable part comes afterwards…🎥 We watch the playback.

Because sometimes what you think you’re showing isn’t actually what the camera is seeing…That playback is invaluable. It teaches them to observe themselves, make adjustments and discover how subtle, or sometimes how BIG an emotional shift needs to be on camera…
