The Audition Process

One of my favourite acting exercises!

In last weeks American Accent lesson, we explored the art of background acting and why “doing less” is often the hardest thing to do. So naturally, I asked my students to exaggerate EVERYTHING in the background…

The playback did not disappoint. 🤣

What started as a bit of fun quickly became one of the best lessons of the day. Watching the playbacks they could instantly see how every movement, expression and choice affects the focus of a scene.

Because great acting isn’t always about being seen… sometimes it’s about helping everyone else shine. 🎬

There’s something incredibly rewarding about watching my young actors take what we train for and explore in class — and apply it in a real-world audition environment.

This week, a few students had the incredible opportunity to put their training into practice through Self-Tape audition requests from their agents…stepping into the professional process and rising to the occasion!

So proud of each and every one of you, continuing to challenge yourselves, take creative risks and growing each week, both on and off camera…🥹👏

Mock Audition 🎬Teen Class Spotlight

This week we ran a mock audition to give our students real experience in what it’s like to walk into an in-person casting.

From slating to cold reading in front of a panel, they practised the essential skills every actor needs to feel confident and prepared when the pressure’s on.
