Safety is at the heart of everything we do. This week, our team participated in fire safety training, refreshing our emergency procedures and practicing how to respond in the event of an emergency.

The votes are in...our resident Guran (possum) has officially been named Poppet!

After suggesting their favourite names, the children took part in a service-wide poll and carefully counted the tallies themselves. The winner? Poppet, by a landslide!

Our whole community has become invested in Poppet's journey, regularly visiting him and asking thoughtful questions as we learn more about Guran and the world around us.

MOON FESTIVAL

The Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, has been celebrated for centuries in many East and Southeast Asian cultures. Traditionally, it is a time for families and communities to gather, give thanks, share food, and admire the beauty of the full moon.

At our service, we embraced the spirit of the festival by coming together as a community. Through a shared meal, conversations, and collaborative lantern making, children explored the importance of connection, belonging, and celebrating cultural traditions. What's that fluffy tail in the tree?

Guran is Yugambeh for possum, and this week we have a very special visitor taking up residence in our bird box!

We suspect it may be the same possum that regularly visits us, but this time, it has chosen a spot that is nice and close, giving our curious learners a wonderful opportunity to observe this beautiful native animal up close.

Today our senior children had a visit from Ditto the Bravehearts bear to do a show for us.
Bravehearts Ditto Keep Safe Adventure Show helps our children learn about personal safety in an age-appropriate, engaging way. The children talked about how to identify safe people and what to do if you are feeling unsafe.

Through their exploration of clay and the pottery wheel, children discover the joy of creating, experimenting, and bringing their ideas to life. As their hands shape, mould, and transform the clay, they develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and an understanding of cause and effect. The gentle rhythm of the spinning wheel encourages focus, persistence, and patience, while each unique creation reflects the child’s imagination, confidence, and sense of accomplishment.
