⚽πŸ”₯ What a way to kick off Spirit Festival 2026! πŸ”₯⚽

For the very first time, our Houses combined forces for the inaugural El Classico football match, with SmGibbs (Smith + Gibbs) taking on LaMorris (Lane + Morris) in front of a packed secondary crowd.

The atmosphere was electric as players walked onto the field alongside Year 2 students, a wonderful display of whole College connectedness and community spirit. With passionate House support from the sidelines and an impressive halftime cheerleading performance from our Year 12 Team, the stage was set for an unforgettable match.

After both teams found the back of the net, the game was decided in a thrilling penalty shootout, with Lamorris emerging victorious. πŸ†

Built by students, for students, Spirit Festival is all about creating opportunities for connection, fun and House pride, and El Classico certainly delivered.

This was just the beginning! Stay tuned next week as we share more highlights and sneak peeks from the many activities that made Spirit Festival such a memorable day. πŸŽ‰

🎢 There was plenty of joy, music and worship at Primary Worship this week as we welcomed back special guest musician and children's entertainer Dan Warlow.

A familiar face at the College, Dan has been inspiring and encouraging our students for many years through his engaging songs, uplifting messages and infectious energy. Students loved singing along, joining in the actions and reflecting on God's love in a fun and meaningful way.

Thank you, Dan, for another wonderful visit and for sharing your gifts with our Primary students. πŸ’™

Congratulations to Our Year 7 & 8 School of Rock Students!
What an incredible evening of music-making at the Ivan Gibbs Centre last night as our Year 7 and 8 School of Rock students took to the stage to showcase their hard work, courage and growing musicianship.

Performing a diverse selection of rock classics from artists including The Beatles, Eurythmics, Goo Goo Dolls and The Cranberries, students presented 11 energetic performances that highlighted their developing skills as ensemble musicians. Through vocals, keyboard, bass guitar, drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar and electric bass, our performers demonstrated the essential skills of playing in time with others, refining instrumental and vocal technique, and embracing the stylistic features that make rock music so engaging and powerful.

What made the evening particularly special was the remarkable growth shown by every student. Some performers began the year as complete beginners, bravely learning their first notes and rhythms. Others challenged themselves by learning entirely new instruments, while several students performed on two or even three different instruments throughout the concert. Their willingness to step outside their comfort zones and embrace new musical opportunities was truly inspiring.

The confidence, enthusiasm and joy displayed on stage reflected many hours of practice, perseverance and teamwork. Each performance was a celebration not only of musical achievement but also of the courage it takes to share one's talents with an audience.
We are immensely proud of every student who participated. Thank you for bringing such energy and excitement to the stage and for reminding us that music is at its best when it is shared with others.

Congratulations on a fantastic concertβ€”we can't wait to see where your musical journey takes you next!

πŸ’šπŸ’› Challenge accepted. πŸ’›πŸ’š

LaMorris sent out the call, and SmiGibbs has answered.

The stage is set for El Classico, and Team SmiGibbs is ready to step onto the field and show what they're made of. Will they rise to the occasion and claim the bragging rights?

A huge thank you to our seniors Shontae, Jesse and Scarlet for filming and editing this video.

βš½πŸ’šπŸ’› The countdown to El Classico is on!
