Thank you to everyone who’s reached out with birthday wishes 🥳
A very special shout out to Correna and Rosa from the Olsen Avenue Community Children's Centre who stopped by the office with homemade pizza from their kitchen for my lunch. Your kindness (and cooking) made my day! 🍕

♻️ Recycleman Visits OACCC! ♻️
Our Senior Kindy and Preschool children recently enjoyed a fun and interactive visit from Recycleman!
Through laughter, play and engaging activities, Recycleman taught the children about recycling, caring for our environment and how we can all help protect our planet. The children had a wonderful time learning important environmental messages in such an entertaining way.
Thank you, Recycleman, for visiting Olsen Avenue Community Children’s Centre and inspiring our young environmental champions! 🌏💚 ♻️

🎉 A Very Special Thank You! 🎉
We were incredibly honoured to officially open our brand-new playground with Sam O'Connor MP and Councillor Joe Wilkinson by our side.
This amazing playground has only been possible thanks to the support we received through two successful grants, and we are so grateful for the investment made in our children, families, and community.
Our children have absolutely fallen in love with their new play space. It has already become a place filled with laughter, imagination, adventure, and learning.
This beautiful new playground is not only an incredible space for our children to play, explore, learn, and grow, but it is also a wonderful space for our team to create meaningful learning experiences, build strong relationships, and enjoy every day alongside the children. It has brought so much excitement to our whole centre, and we know it will continue to benefit everyone for many years to come.
A heartfelt thank you to Sam O'Connor MP and Councillor Joe Wilkinson for your support, encouragement, and commitment to helping us secure these grants. Your investment in early childhood education has created a lasting impact on our centre and the families we serve.
We absolutely love our new playground, and so do our team and children! Thank you for helping make this dream a reality. We are incredibly grateful for your support and look forward to making many wonderful memories in this amazing space. 💚🌿🛝

🇯🇵 What an incredible Japanese Cultural Show! 🇯🇵
Our children recently enjoyed a fun and engaging Japanese Cultural Show that introduced them to the rich traditions, customs, and culture of Japan.
Through interactive storytelling, music, movement, language, and hands-on experiences, the children learned Japanese greetings, explored the art of origami, discovered traditional clothing such as kimonos and yukatas, played the taiko drums, and joined in with exciting songs and ninja games.
These immersive experiences help foster curiosity, cultural awareness, and an appreciation for diversity, while supporting children's learning through play. It was wonderful to see their excitement as they explored a different culture in such a meaningful and engaging way.
A huge thank you to Aiko and Taro from Japanese Cultural Show for delivering such an amazing and memorable experience for our children. We are so grateful for the joy, enthusiasm, and knowledge you shared with us. ❤️

🩵 Keeping Children Safe is Everyone's Responsibility 🩵
We are proud to share that our Centre has completed the Bravehearts Child Safety Education Program, further strengthening our commitment to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for every child in our care.
Through this program, we continue to educate children in age-appropriate ways about:
💙 Personal safety
💙 Recognising safe and unsafe situations
💙 Body safety
💙 Speaking up to trusted adults
💙 Building confidence and resilience
Child safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our commitment extends beyond the classroom through ongoing education and professional development for our educators, as well as working closely with families to create a community where children feel safe, heard, respected, and empowered.
We believe that by educating children, families, and our staff, we can all play an important role in protecting children and giving them the knowledge and confidence they need.
Thank you to our wonderful Community and families for partnering with us as we continue to make child safety a priority every single day. 💙

✨Community connections✨
On Friday the 12th June Miss Correna and Miss Nicki had the privlage of attending the Teddy Bears' Picnic for under 5s, held at Musgrave Hill primary school. It was a wonderful event where childcare centres could showcase their pedagogical practice and for local support agencies to share with families what they have to offer.
At Olsen Avenue Community Childrens Centre, we encourage lose parts play, open ended resources to inspire the children’s curiosity, wonder and awe.
It was lovely to meet, and speak with so many families within our community and also to see many familiar faces.
