The time has come to officially welcome Jorden to Baseline Sports Performance full time.

Over the past 9 years, Jorden has worked in Melbourne as a Physiotherapist and Rehab Coach, building extensive experience working with athletes and alongside some outstanding practitioners.

With a particular passion for lower limb injuries, especially ACL rehabilitation he has helped athletes at all levels navigate the path back to performance, confidence, and sport.

Jorden now brings that experience back to Baseline, where he will be helping clients return to the activities they love while also supporting and mentoring clinicians as they continue to grow and develop.

Here we have Ozzy completing his knee rehab post meniscus surgery.

Ozzy is currently progressing through phase 3 of his rehab. This means he is now building volume in the gym, progressing his plyometrics in multiple directions and has returned back to running and court work.

Testing throughout each phase has allowed us to safely progress ozzy and get him closer to return to sport.

Crutches are prescribed for a reason after ACL surgery

You start in the Protection Phase and that is exactly what we are trying to achieve early. Protect and promote healing of the knee.

Before progressing to no crutches we like to see
✅ Full extension + at least 110 deg flexion
✅ Improving swelling
✅Good quad activation (no lag)
✅Progressing through gait exercises

ACL Rehab is challenging, but setting a strong foundation will help you get back to your goals

There is so much more to testing than the numbers you see.

Here we have Yasu explaining how important quality of movement is throughout testing and what compensation strategies we may see in the Y Ash test.

The athlete may be able to score high, but the way they move and strategies they use will give us a lot of important information to work on going into the next training block.

Compensations are everywhere in an ACL Rehab.

Here is a simple compensation strategy I see with all rehabbers who haven’t put work into their knee dominant patterns.

If focused on early this stiff landing can be solved very fast, but if not then the pattern can stay for much longer and really affect your rehab.

There are many exercises/cues that help this stiff strategy and finding one that works for you or your client is critical.
