School History
The Sisters of Mercy started teaching in Southport in 1898 when Star of the Sea Convent was built on land next to Guardian Angels Church.
Guardian Angels Parish Primary School was originally incorporated into Star of the Sea College but by 1958 Guardian Angels had gained its own identity and was the first official Catholic primary school on the Gold Coast. The Guardian Angels Athletics Carnival will be held at Bishop Oval in Ashmore (next to the PCYC) on Wednesday 24 June, weather permitting.
Field event trials, including High Jump, Long Jump and Shot Put, have already taken
place during PE lessons, with finals to be held on the day of the carnival.
All students will participate in a range of activities, including running races, ball games, vortex throwing, and a non-competitive long jump.
High Jump finals will be held this Friday for the students who have qualified in PE
lessons.
Parents are warmly invited to attend and support the students at the carnival
throughout the day. Approximate times of events will be coming out soon.

Today, class representatives from years 3-6 met with our Qualities of Angels Leaders for the GA Cafè. This is a lunch time event in which students give feedback to Mrs Carter and our school student leaders about our procedures and practices at GA. Student voice helps us to reflect on how our school operates and helps to shape future decisions.

The Innovation and Invention room was a hive of activity today thanks to visiting tech guru, DigiTech Tinker Lab - Damien Kee. Damien worked with our Robotics club, Inventor's Academy, Little Bit'n'Bytes and students in Year 6 to further develop their coding abilities and technical skills. Thanks for coming to GA Damien! 🤖
