🌧️ Rainy days don’t stop the fun at Bright Kids! 🧘‍♀️🎲

Our toddlers enjoyed a yoga and breathwork session in the classroom today, combining movement, mindfulness, and turn-taking. Using a yoga dice, each child had the opportunity to take turns rolling and discovering which pose the group would try next.

This fun and interactive experience encouraged children to move their bodies, practice patience while waiting for their turn, follow instructions, and develop their balance and coordination. We also focused on deep breathing techniques, helping children to regulate their emotions, build concentration, and promote a sense of calm and wellbeing.

A wonderful way to stay active, connected, and engaged while the rain fell outside! 💙✨

🌈✨ Under 8’s Day at Nerang State School ✨🌈

Last week our children had a fantastic time attending Under 8’s Day at Nerang State School as part of our School Readiness Program. 💛

The children enjoyed a variety of hands-on activities, explored new learning environments, and built confidence as they connected with the wider community. Experiences like these help support a smooth and positive transition to school while making learning fun!

We loved seeing so many smiles, curiosity, and excitement throughout the day. 🌟

🚧 Digging, scooping, pouring and exploring! 🚧

Our Dolphins children had so much fun engaging in sensory play through the sand trough experience today. Using excavators, dump trucks and diggers, the children worked together to move sand around while expanding their imagination and creativity.

We also introduced natural and loose part resources such as wooden chips, paddle pop sticks and corks to encourage open-ended play and problem-solving. The children explored different ways to build, scoop, transport and create, all while developing their fine motor skills, communication and teamwork.

It was wonderful to watch the children engage so deeply in their play, sharing ideas and creating their own little construction site together! 🏗️✨

♻️ BIG imaginations at work today! 📦✨

A huge thank you to one of our beautiful families for donating some large furniture boxes that would have otherwise gone to waste. What may have looked like “just rubbish” quickly became an incredible learning experience for our children! 💛

Throughout the day yesterday, the children worked together to transform the boxes into cubby houses, tunnels, hiding spaces, and creative little worlds of their own. It was amazing watching their ideas come to life as they explored, problem-solved, negotiated roles, and communicated with one another.

We then extended on the children’s current interest in construction by incorporating tools and construction resources into the experience, allowing the children to continue their role play in meaningful and engaging ways. The room quickly became a busy construction site filled with teamwork, planning, building, and imaginative conversations. 🔨🚧

These open-ended experiences encourage so many important developmental skills including:

🌿 Problem-solving and critical thinking

🍂 Autumn Sensory Play 🍂

Our toddlers have been exploring all things autumn with this beautiful sensory tray! Filled with natural treasures like leaves, pinecones, seed pods and sand, the children used scoops, bowls and their hands to dig, pour and discover.

🦷✨ Our Kindy Friends Visit the Dentist! ✨🦷

Today at Bright Kids, our kindy friends had a very special visit from the dentist! First, we learned all about the importance of looking after our teeth and the simple steps we can take every day to keep our smiles bright and healthy 😁

From brushing techniques to understanding “sugar bugs,” the children were so engaged and excited to learn!

After our group session, each child had the opportunity to have their teeth checked and cleaned all part of the amazing services we offer here at Bright Kids 💙

A big thank you to Dental2You for coming out, providing these wonderful services, and partnering with us to help ensure our children have clean, healthy teeth 🪥✨

We’re so proud of how brave and cooperative everyone was!

We can’t wait to see the dentist again in 6 months for our next check-up… and we’re also looking forward to our upcoming visit from the eye doctor, who will be checking our eyes in the coming months 👀
