🌊🌿 Celebrating Culture with Our Nursery 1 Friends 🖤🤍

Our youngest learners explored the beautiful colours of the Torres Strait Islander flag — blue, black, green and white — through a fun and hands-on painting experience. 🎨✨

As the children created their own marks, lines and patterns using paint sticks, educators introduced the meaning behind each colour through simple, meaningful conversations. We explored blue for the sea, green for the land, black for Torres Strait Islander people, and white for peace. 🌊🌱

These little moments of learning provide opportunities for our Nursery 1 children to develop their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, creativity and sensory awareness, while beginning to build an understanding and respect for Australia's First Nations cultures. 💚

Even our youngest learners can connect, explore and celebrate culture in meaningful ways. 🌏✨

🌿 First Connections in the Park 🌿

What a beautiful morning of connection, community and nature! 💚

Miss Whitney and Miss Kayla came together with our N1 families for a special First Connections in the Park morning. We enjoyed a leisurely nature walk through the botanical gardens, taking time to explore, notice the natural environment and connect with one another before heading to the park for some play and fun.

It was a wonderful opportunity for families and educators to connect outside of the centre, build relationships in a relaxed setting and create shared experiences within our local community. 🌳🦋

We loved seeing families chatting, children exploring and everyone enjoying the simple joy of being together outdoors.

Our Kindergarten 2 children recently ventured out to the local park for some fresh air, exploration and plenty of fun! Even the rainy weather couldn’t stop us — raincoats on, smiles ready and off we went! ☔️💚

There’s something special about embracing the weather and giving children the opportunity to explore their community, connect with nature and enjoy the great outdoors. 🌿🛝

Miss Micaela supports our educators in developing intentional, engaging learning experiences and strengthening our curriculum and educational practice.

🐜✨ A Visit to William Duncan! 🏫💚

We recently had a wonderful visit to William Duncan State School, where our children enjoyed a fun and engaging learning experience all about ants! 🐜

The children listened attentively to a story about ants, sparking lots of thoughtful conversations and curious questions. 💭🔍 We explored questions like Where do ants live? What do ants eat? What happens when we drop sugar on the ground? and Can ants carry heavy things? 🍬🐜

Our little learners then got creative with an ant craft experience, carefully making their very own ants while discovering more about insect body parts. They counted legs, identified the three sections of an insect's body and talked about how ants work together as a colony. 🐜🏡

It was wonderful to see the children curiously investigate, share their ideas and represent their learning through creativity. 🎨❤️ A big thank you to William Duncan for welcoming us and creating such a meaningful learning experience for our children! 🌟
