Our school is a co-educational facility which caters for approximately 300 students with disabilities

Our school has experienced significant growth over the last five years and as a result we have many new buildings. We have four teaching sections in the school โ€“ Junior School - Prep to Year 2; Middle School - Years 3-6; Junior Secondary - Year 7-9; and Senior School - Years 10-12.

๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ’›โค๏ธ What a wonderful week of learning, creativity and connection as we celebrated NAIDOC Week!

Our students explored and celebrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through a range of hands-on activities, including creating beautiful mixed media collages, designing boomerang art, enjoying traditional-inspired games, and expressing their creativity through painting.

Southport Special School recently hosted its annual Post-School Pathways Expo, welcoming 25 disability service providers from across the Gold Coast region. The event brought together a diverse range of organisations offering post-school supports, employment services, training opportunities, recreational programs, and community participation options for young people with disability.

Students and families from Years 10โ€“12 were invited to attend, providing a valuable opportunity to explore future pathways, engage directly with service providers, and begin building meaningful connections to support successful transitions beyond school.

We extend our sincere thanks to our students, families, and community partners for their enthusiastic participation and support. Their commitment to working collaboratively helps ensure our young people are well prepared to achieve positive and fulfilling post-school outcomes.
