🌊 SWELL has come to Kindy! 🎨🌿

Inspired by the incredible sculptures of the SWELL Sculpture Festival, our Dolphin and Turtle groups have been busy creating some masterpieces of their own!

Using recycled resources from around our Kindy, the children gave old materials a new life, transforming them into treasured decorations for our beautiful garden. ♻️✨

And of course, our new scarecrow has a very important job, keeping watch over the beautiful spring flowers the children have lovingly planted and cared for. 🌻🌼

We love seeing creativity, sustainability and nature come together through play and learning. Our very own little sculpture exhibition has certainly brought some extra magic to the Kindy garden! 💛

Celebrating our wonderful Dads & special people! 💙

There was so much excitement in the lead-up to Father’s Day as our children poured plenty of love and creativity into making the occasion extra special.

🎨 The children got creative painting their very own goblets
🎁 Handmade gift bags were lovingly created
✨ Families joined us for a very special VIP night
🛍️ And our Father’s Day Stall gave the children the opportunity to choose something special for Dad, Poppy, Grandpa or the important father figure in their lives.

It was such a beautiful celebration filled with creativity, connection and some very proud little faces as they prepared their special surprises. 🥰

A big thank you to everyone who helped bring these moments together, and we hope all of the incredible dads and special people within our community had a wonderful Father’s Day! 💙

🐨 Meet Kindi & Kairo! 💚

We had the most special little visitors outside our kindy/community centre last week — a beautiful mumma koala and her tiny joey!

The children were given the very important job of naming them, and they chose Kindi for mum. 🥹🐨 Her little boy has since been named Kairo by the koala sanctuary.

On 13 August, Kindi was estimated to be around 4 years old and weighed approximately 6kg, while Kairo was a tiny 7.5-month-old boy, weighing just over 600g.

The wonderful news is that both Kindi and Kairo were found to be disease-free and in good health. 💚

Kindi has now been vaccinated against Chlamydia, helping to reduce the likelihood of her contracting this disease in the future. Kairo will receive his vaccination once he is big enough.

Even more excitingly, Kindi and Kairo are now part of a local koala monitoring program and will be tracked and monitored over the next year. This will help the team make sure they remain healthy and safe — particularly as Kairo gets older and begins to venture out on his own.

Living in Burleigh means our local koalas are navigating an increasingly urban environment, where busy roads, cars and dogs can unfortunately pose serious risks. Monitoring individual koalas like Kindi and Kairo gives researchers valuable information about their health, movements and how they are adapting to their changing environment.

🐨 Keep an eye out for Kindi!
She has a blue ear tag in her right ear, so if you happen to spot her around the local area, you may be able to recognise her.

We feel incredibly lucky that the children had the opportunity to see these beautiful locals up close and learn about the importance of protecting the wildlife that shares our community. 🌿

Thank you to the Burleigh Community Men's Shed for inviting us to their morning tea to celebrate their new acquisition - a brand new band saw donated by .

It was lovely to meet the many of the Men's Shed community members and see their space, where they use their skills to make all sorts of things to support local community groups. Ours included!

Just another day at kindy... 🐨🌿

This week’s unexpected visitor? A koala in the tree! The children were absolutely fascinated watching from a safe distance as our furry friend made itself right at home.

Moments like these are such a beautiful reminder of the incredible wildlife we get to share our world with. 💚

Our much-loved cubby house has had a beautiful makeover! 🏠

Over the recent holidays, the incredible team from the Burleigh Men's Shed generously restored our beloved cubby house, and we couldn't be more grateful.

With a brand new tin roof, a fresh coat of paint, and a beautifully carved wooden street sign, it has been lovingly brought back to life. 🏡❤️

This special space has been at the heart of so many imaginative adventures, and the children have been absolutely over the moon to have it back at kindy!

A heartfelt thank you to Warren and the wonderful volunteers from the Burleigh Men's Shed for donating your time, skills and kindness to our community. Your generosity has created something that will be enjoyed by generations of little learners.

🎶 Music with Mark! 🎶

We were so lucky to have one of our wonderful kindy dads, Mark, visit us and share his love of music with the children. As a music teacher, he introduced us to a range of instruments, sparking curiosity, creativity and plenty of excitement!

The children were completely engaged, enjoying a fun singalong, dancing together and even requesting some of their favourite songs. 🎤💃🕺

Music is so much more than entertainment—it plays a vital role in early childhood development. It supports language, memory, coordination, emotional expression and creativity, while engaging many areas of the brain all at once. Experiences like these help children build confidence, connection and a lifelong love of learning through play.

A huge thank you to Mark for sharing your time, talent and passion with us. We loved every minute! 💛🎶

📚 Save Our Library ❤️
Our little voices matter too.

Today we're sharing the signs our children lovingly created for the protest rally, showing just how important our local library is to them and our wider kindy community.

Located just a short walk from our Kindy, the library is so much more than a building. It's a place where stories come to life, curiosity grows, and a lifelong love of reading begins. Each year, our children visit the library on an excursion, creating special memories while discovering the magic of books and learning.

We stand with our families and community in supporting this invaluable local resource. We hope our children's messages remind everyone just how much this space means to the next generation.
