A huge thank you to Holly & Yvette for holding another amazing dance concert today. 💛

We absolutely love seeing the joy on the children’s faces as they showcase all the fun, confidence and love for dance they have been learning over the year.

Little Groovers has been a very special part of Goodstart Burleigh Waters for over 10 years, bringing so many wonderful dance lessons, concerts, family connections, and moments of joy and happiness to our little dancers.

We feel incredibly lucky to have Holly & Yvette as part of our community and are so grateful for the lasting memories and smiles they bring to our children each year. ✨

The role of environments in high quality early learning: 5 quick questions with an exceeding centre 01/05/2026

The one who guides us, inspires us, and has supported our team in creating an Exceeding environment — Lee Green — recently shared her reflections on our journey to becoming an Exceeding-rated centre and being recognised as National winners for Enabling Environments in the 2025 Goodies Awards.

But as always, her words carry so much depth, heart, and purpose 🤍

We’re often asked what being not-for-profit really means for our families.

Simply put, it means that our purpose always comes before profit. Every dollar we make is reinvested back into our centres, to provide children with enriching and safe learning environments.

We understand how important it is for children to be in a place where they feel safe and settled. And when families need to make a change - planned or unexpected - we’re here to help make that transition easier.

We’re here to support families when it matters most – because every child deserves a Goodstart! ✨

Our staff meetings are more than just meetings. They’re valuable training sessions where we grow and learn together.

We feel so honoured to be working with Steven Bekue from Bundjalung Dreaming, who is deepening our understanding of how to respectfully explore and embed Indigenous perspectives into our program. It’s been a meaningful journey learning how to introduce Aboriginal art with intention and share stories through traditional symbols and patterns.

We’re mindful to approach this in a way that honours culture, builds our knowledge as educators, and creates authentic learning experiences for our children.

It’s something we’re truly proud to be learning together. 🤎

Our service proudly welcomed Steve Bekue from to support us with the design of a colllaborative piece we have displayed in the foyer. Every shape and curve has meaning that represents our unique waterfront centre. This artwork is about connection, learning, community and the many journeys that begin here. Through Further kindy uplift workshops with Steve and his wife Anita, our educators and teachers will emerse themselves in lessons of respectful art delivery practices to support and deliver techniques for the children and their continued learning and understanding of reconciliation, we are excited for next time with Bundjalung Dreaming...

Wednesdays in our centre are extra special, as it’s our Music Specialist day. 🎶

We are so lucky to have Miss Shey, who shares her beautiful love of music with the children and teaches them her wonderful ukulele skills. Each week the children proudly bring in their own ukuleles excited and ready to learn.

It’s such a joy to see them strumming along, exploring rhythm and sound, and building their confidence through music. The engagement during these sessions is incredible, with the children fully immersed and absolutely loving every moment.

Music brings so much happiness to our centre and we are incredibly grateful to have Miss Shey guiding the children on this musical journey. 🎵💛

This year we have introduced Star of the Month as a way to recognise and celebrate the incredible dedication, passion and teamwork shown by our Educators each and every day.

Behind every meaningful moment with children and families is an Educator who has shown care, patience, creativity and commitment to supporting our learning community. Star of the Month allows us to pause and acknowledge those special contributions that help make our centre such a positive and inspiring place to be.

Our Star of the Month is selected through feedback from Educators across the centre. Throughout the month team members notice the many ways their colleagues support one another. Whether it’s lending a helping hand, going above and beyond for children and families, sharing knowledge, bringing positive energy to the team, or demonstrating strong leadership and teamwork.

By inviting input from across the centre, this recognition truly reflects the appreciation and respect our team has for one another.

Star of the Month is simply our way of saying thank you. Celebrating the people who show up each day with heart, dedication and a genuine love for the work we do.

We are so proud of the amazing team we have and look forward to recognising the many wonderful contributions made by our Educators throughout the year. 🌟🩷
