Using the long foam roller for a workout can add in the challenge of balance and instability. This is not just great for the muscles, it’s also great for the brain. Using things that challenge balance helps the brain make new neural pathways as it works to solve these challenges. Why not add a roller into your workout so you get to work the brain and the body together.

Saturday stretch
Using a chair to stretch when you’re stuck in an office can be really handy.
Here are some things you can use to break up those desk stints.
Friday 5
5 things you can do with a dining chair that we do in a pilates studio (sort of).
MAKE SURE your chair is sturdy and secure. Place it against something to support it so it doesn’t tip. Use a workout stepper as a substitute if you don’t have a suitable chair.
This is different to how you would feel on Pilates apparatus. But if you don’t have access, why not use what you can.

Wednesday’s workout
Using your dining chair and a fitball you can create a mini workout that doesn’t require a lot of space. Add the reps. Build up to 10 each side. Add resistance in the form of weights or get creative with a resistance band (if you feel safe enough to do so). Always do what is within your bounds and knowledge as well as energy for the day. Build a routine with this and other videos.
