📣 VOLUNTEERS NEEDED – BETHANIA BUNNINGS BBQ 🌭

Cedar Creek State School P&C has been allocated another Bunnings BBQ! 🎉

📅 Sunday 18 October 2026

Our Bunnings BBQs are a fantastic fundraiser for our school, but we need the help of our wonderful school community to make the day a success. 💚

💚 WHY DO WE FUNDRAISE?

Our P&C fundraisers help us provide extra resources, equipment, programs and opportunities for our students that may not otherwise be possible through the school’s regular funding.

Every sausage sold, every donation received and every hour volunteered helps us put money straight back into our school and our kids. 🏫💚

🙌 CAN YOU VOLUNTEER?

We’re looking for parents, carers, family members and friends who can lend a hand with:

🧅 Slicing onions in preparation for the BBQ
🌭 Cooking sausages
🥖 Preparing and serving
💰 Taking orders and payments
📦 Restocking and keeping everything running smoothly

Even a couple of hours makes a huge difference! We’d also love to hear from anyone who can help prepare onions beforehand, even if you’re unable to volunteer on the Sunday.

🛒 CAN’T VOLUNTEER BUT STILL WANT TO HELP?

We would be incredibly grateful for donations of:

🌭 Sausages
🍞 Bread
🧅 Onions
🥫 Tomato & BBQ sauce
🧻 Napkins
🥤 Cans of soft drink

Donated supplies help keep our costs down, which means even more of the money raised can go directly back into supporting our students.

👉 If you can volunteer or donate, please comment below or message the P&C. If volunteering, let us know what times you’re available. We require volunteers from 7am - 4pm on Sunday 18th of October, and 1pm - 4pm Friday 16th of October.

It really does take a community, and every little bit of help makes a difference. 💚

We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and hardworking team member to join our friendly school tuckshop and help support our wonderful school community.

🕒 Position Details:

• Casual weekday position.
• Contract until the end of 2026.
• 12 hours per week across Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday – 4 hours per day.
• Shifts will be scheduled between 7:00am and 2:00pm.
• Additional hours may be available from time to time to cover annual leave, personal leave, school events and other operational requirements.

🍎 Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and serving food.
• Handling cash and EFTPOS transactions.
• Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.
• Stock control, ordering and completing regular stocktakes.
• Providing friendly customer service to students and staff.
• Assisting with general tuckshop duties as required.

✅ The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Be punctual, reliable and well presented.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Have good communication and organisational skills.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Hold (or be willing to obtain) relevant food handling certification.
• Hold a current paid Working with Children Check (Blue Card), or be willing to obtain one.

📣 P&C Meeting Update – Wednesday 16th September

Please be advised that the P&C meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Wednesday 16th September, will no longer be held.

We apologise for the late notice and any inconvenience this may cause, and appreciate everyone’s understanding.

Instead, an Executive Committee Meeting will be taking place. If you have any items you would like raised or discussed, please feel free to email [email protected] or reach out to a member of our Executive Committee, and we can ensure these are brought forward at the meeting.

📣 PARENT INVITATION – SAVE THE DATE

The School Principal has scheduled a special parent information session and is inviting all parents and carers to attend.

The afternoon will provide an opportunity to hear about the school’s new Student Code of Conduct, as well as meet some of the key team members who support our students and families.

☕ Coffee, tea, fruit juice, fruit and light snacks will be provided.

The P&C encourages our families to come along and take advantage of this opportunity to hear directly from the school, ask questions and be part of the conversation.

Brenda, the Chaplain at Cedar Creek State School, is passionate about supporting local young people and making a positive difference in their lives every day.

To help raise much-needed funds for chaplaincy services, Brenda and a dedicated team of chaplains will be taking part in the Bridge to Brisbane on 13 September. Their goal is to ensure they can continue being a source of support, encouragement, hope, and care for students across our school communities.
