We have been so fortunate at U3A for many years to have a tutor who has been as eminently qualified as our local Judge David Ashton- Lewis. He has given his time freely and willingly taking his class, Topical Issues, for many years, building up a loyal following of members who are in awe of his general knowledge, status in the law community and general work ethic. He has helped us all to understand not only the finer points of the law but also the news we read every day and how to interpret it.

Sadly, 2026 will be his LAST year with U3A as OUR JUDGE will be moving on.

Love art? Curious about calligraphy? This relaxed and inclusive class is open to complete beginners through to experienced artists.

Learn how to draw and paint with confidence, exploring perspective, proportion, composition, and a range of techniques using watercolours, acrylics, oils, and pastels. Beginners are supported and encouraged to express themselves, while more experienced artists are welcome to develop their own style and share ideas with others.

✒️ Calligraphy is the art of beautiful writing. Using pens, ink brushes, and other tools, you’ll learn how lettering can be both functional and expressive — from invitations and certificates to decorative and abstract artworks.
