I’m proud to announce my “Young Actor of the Month” 17 year old Donnie Hart from Brisbane.

Donnie is a talented actor, singer, and dancer. He has performed with elite dance crews. Donnie performs live regularly across Australia singing, dancing and MCing. He has performed in theatre and has learnt film /TV acting at the National Acting School in Canberra with Bobby Farquhar. He is aspiring to do both film and theatre acting for a range of different projects.

Donnie proved to be professional, knowing all his lines, taking correction well and performing his scene with perfection taking direction and adding his own spin to the American scene.

Donnie is freelance and currently looking for an Agent.

I’d like to introduce you to my “Actor of the Month” 24 year old Sophia Ivory from the Gold Coast, Queensland.

Sophia attended my 1 Day Adult American Accent Workshop at Queensland Headshots last Saturday. I was most impressed with her vibrant, positive and professional attitude. Sophia was well prepared, camera ready and ready to take correction to “fine tune” her Kiwi/Aussie accent into an American Accent. That’s not easy!

Her foundation in theatre and dance informs her work with strong physicality, emotional authenticity, and a confident on-screen presence.

What a fabulous day we had performing TVC’s, Presenting roles, and audition scenes. Each student is receiving their audition piece edited for their USA Showreel..

This is a great opportunity to learn the American Accent in a small group and in a safe, comfortable and fun environment.
So many USA productions are happening RIGHT NOW so you need to be prepared BEFORE you have a casting and/or simply to brush up if you’ve had lessons before and want the opportunity to be filmed with other actors in a “casting” situation.

I signed up for Sandra’s American accent coach class with Wade Boyes in 2023 and am about to brush up on this again.

I had been auditioning for American roles and I just landed a supporting lead role in a TV Pilot where I’m doing a Southern accent! I’m also talking to another Director about a lead in a movie using my American general accent.

The biggest thing Sandra taught me was understanding those words that we think we are pronouncing right but just aren’t! This isn’t our natural accent and It makes all the difference when Sandra coaches your accent to be natural. I’ve even had comments that people can’t tell I’m Australian! Thanks Sandra, you’re the bomb!
