๐ง One of the biggest lessons we worked on in Yung Gunz Coaching this week was:
Control the Controllables.
So many teenage boys spend their time and energy worrying about things they can't control:
โ What other people think
โ What their mates are doing
โ School decisions
โ Selection in sport
โ Past mistakes
The problem is, the more time we spend focused on things outside of our control, the less energy we have to improve the things that actually matter.
Instead, we encouraged the boys to focus on:
โ
Their effort
โ
Their attitude
โ
Their training
โ
Their sleep
โ
Their screen time
โ
Their habits
โ
How they respond when things don't go their way
This is one of the core principles we teach inside Yung Gunz.
Not because life is always fair or easy, but because confidence, resilience and discipline are built when young men learn to take ownership of the things they can control.
If you've got a teenage son who could benefit from more structure, accountability, confidence and positive influences around him you send us a DM.

You're not alone.
Many parents are concerned about things like:
โข Low confidence
โข Lack of motivation
โข Too much screen time
โข Poor habits and routines
โข Stress, anxiety and overwhelm
โข A lack of direction or positive influences
The good news is that these things can be improved with the right support, structure and mentorship.
Yung Gunz Coaching helps teenage boys build:
โ
Confidence
โ
Discipline
โ
Healthy habits
โ
Resilience
โ
Fitness and wellbeing
Through a combination of Movement, Mentorship and Mindset, we help young men develop the skills and habits they need to thrive both now and into the future.

These are the kind of check-ins weโre seeing more and more of inside Yung Gunz.
Itโs not about being perfect every week itโs about showing up, building consistency, and taking ownership of what needs to improve.
Thatโs how these boys start to build real confidence, discipline, and habits that actually stick.
If your son is lacking structure, motivation, or direction right now, this is exactly what we work on.

This week inside YUNG GUNZ we worked on something simple.
What does an optimal day and week actually look like?
And on the flip sideโฆ
What does an average or poor day look like?
Most boys donโt lack potential.
They lack consistent days.
We broke it down:
Optimal day:
โข Train properly
โข Eat well
โข Phone under control
โข In bed on time
โข Real effort in school or sport
Poor day:
โข Late night
โข Missed training
โข Sloppy food
โข Too much screen time
โข โIโll start tomorrowโ
One poor day? Not the end of the world.
One great day? Also doesnโt change much.
But stack poor days and poor weeks togetherโฆ progress stalls.
Stack strong days and strong weeks togetherโฆ the boys shift.
The goal isnโt perfect boys.
Itโs boys who can stack good days more often than bad ones.

I hear that from parents all the time.
Not a bad kid.
Not lazy.
Just inconsistent.
You can see the potential thereโฆ
But you can also see:
๐ Late nights
๐ฑ Too much screen time
๐ Half-finished commitments
๐ Motivation that comes and goes
And itโs frustrating because you know heโs capable of more.
Thatโs where YUNG GUNZ fits.
It gives boys:
๐๏ธ Structured training each week
๐ Accountability
โฌ๏ธ Standards to step up to
๐ Other lads around them who are working
Some boys come in just needing direction.
Some want to push toward bigger goals.
Either way the foundation is the same:
Discipline. Consistency. Effort.
When that starts to build, the boys totally shift.

Lincoln smashed a few goals last week:
โข Hit the gym 4 times ๐ฅ
โข Woke up on time every day for school โฐ
โข Got through his first week of trade school โ
Small steps. Big wins.
This is what progress looks like consistency, effort, and pushing yourself even when itโs tough.
Celebrating moments like this is exactly why we do what we do. Keep showing up, Lincoln youโre building more than strength in the gym.

Some days they barely hear a word you say. Other days, the smallest thing sets them off. You know they can be responsible, kind, and motivated but getting there feels like trying to solve a puzzle blindfolded.
We get it. Youโre doing your best, but sometimes it feels like nothing is working. Thatโs exactly why Yung Gunz exists: to help teenage boys build confidence, focus, and purpose without constant arguments or frustration.
Because at the end of the day, you just want your son to feel capable, proud, and happyโฆ and you donโt have to do it alone.

๐ก Day 14 / 14
Set Standards (Not Just Goals)
Goals are great but standards are what lads fall back on when motivation drops. A standard is simply how you choose to show up, no matter what.
Todayโs focus โ
โ
Decide what โshowing up properlyโ looks like for you
โ
Keep standards simple (sleep, effort, attitude, respect)
โ
Donโt negotiate with yourself when things feel hard
โ
Focus on consistency, not perfection
How parents can help ๐
โข Talk about standards instead of just outcomes
โข Praise consistency and effort, not just results
โข Reinforce โthis is how we do thingsโ at home
โข Help them reflect when standards slip, without overreacting
Strong standards create direction, confidence, and momentum and set lads up to handle school, sport, work, and life with maturity.

๐ก Day 13 / 14
Build Responsibility & Ownership
As teens head back into school (or work), responsibility becomes a big one. When lads start taking ownership of their actions, routines, and commitments, confidence grows and stress drops for them and for parents.
Todayโs focus โ
โ
Take responsibility for schoolwork, training, or work commitments
โ
Own mistakes instead of blaming others
โ
Follow through on what you say youโll do
โ
Start solving problems independently before asking for help
How parents can help ๐
โข Allow natural consequences instead of rescuing straight away
โข Encourage accountability without lecturing
โข Ask โWhatโs your plan?โ rather than fixing it for them
โข Acknowledge effort and follow-through, not just results
Learning responsibility helps teenage lads become more reliable, confident, and capable skills that matter well beyond school.
