On Sunday nightβs Yung Gunz call, we worked through motivation and what gives our lads the best chance of feeling motivated more often.
π‘ One of the biggest lessons was that motivation often comes from action, not the other way around.
Waiting until you feel motivated can keep you stuck. Taking one small step, such as starting the workout, completing a task or getting organised, creates momentum and makes the next step easier.
Some of the ingredients that support motivation include:
π΄ Looking after sleep
π₯ Eating well and staying hydrated
ποΈ Moving regularly and feeling physically capable
π Recognising progress, achievements and small wins
π€ Having supportive people around you
β
Taking action even when you donβt feel completely ready
Motivation will naturally rise and fall. Strong habits, accountability and consistent action help keep our lads moving forward while giving them the best chance of keeping their motivation levels as high as possible, as often as possible.

Itβs awesome to see our Yung Gunz consistently showing up and putting in the work week after week.
Theyβre not relying on motivation or waiting for the perfect time theyβre building strong habits, improving their fitness and becoming strong, capable young men.
Great work, lads. Keep it rolling! πͺ

πͺ REAL LADS. REAL RESULTS.
This is why Yung Gunz exists.
Hereβs what one of our lads had to say after joining the program:
π Before Yung Gunz:
βMy life was inconsistent. I barely went to the gym, and if I did, my routine was terrible. Iβd either leave early or spend most of the time on my phone.β
π₯ Biggest change:
βMy mentality. I now confidently know what Iβm going to do at the gym, and I train five times a week.β
π§ Biggest lesson:
βDonβt get jealous of other people. Do your own thing, and real people recognise a strong mentality.β
π Advice for another teen thinking about joining:
βDefinitely do it. Youβll have more self-confidence in yourself... and bigger muscles!β
Confidence isnβt built overnight.
Itβs built through consistency, accountability, good coaching, and being surrounded by the right people.
Thatβs exactly what we do at Yung Gunz.

Three signs your teen son might need more structure in his life:
1. Motivation only shows up for screens.
2. Routine has gone out the window.
3. Confidence is dropping, even if he wonβt say it out loud.
The good news, all three can be rebuilt with the right environment and support.

Meet Leigh, the coach behind Yung Gunz.
Leigh has spent years as a personal trainer on the Sunshine Coast helping everyday people get stronger and build better habits.
Along the way he kept noticing the same gap, teenage boys with no direction, no one showing them how to train properly, build confidence or hold themselves accountable.
Yung Gunz was built to fill that gap, movement, mentorship and mindset for teen lads who want more.
01/07/2026
School holidays donβt have to mean putting life on hold.
Teen lads should enjoy their break. Sleep in a little, catch up with mates, relax and recharge.
But thereβs a difference between resting and drifting.
Itβs easy for a couple of lazy days to turn into two weeks of sleeping in until midday, spending hours on a phone or gaming, doing no exercise and feeling flat by the end of the holidays.
The boys in Yung Gunz have been challenged to find that balance.
Enjoy the holidays, but keep some momentum.
That could look like:
πͺ Getting 3β4 workouts in each week.
πΆ Getting outside every day.
π€ Catching up with mates in person.
π Spending time on a hobby or learning a new skill.
π‘ Helping out around the house.
π± Being mindful of how much time youβre spending on your phone.
The goal isnβt to be productive every minute of the day.
The goal is to enjoy the break without losing the habits that make you feel good.
A few small wins each day can make a huge difference to your confidence, your mood and how you feel about yourself.
Movement. Mindset. Mentorship.
24/06/2026
Most teenage boys aren't taught how to look after themselves.
They're expected to somehow figure out:
πͺ Exercise and training
π₯ Nutrition
π΄ Sleep
π± Managing screen time
π― Goal setting
π§ Confidence and resilience
Yet these are some of the most important skills they'll ever learn.
At Yung Gunz Coaching, we help teenage boys develop the habits, mindset and life skills that many simply aren't taught anywhere else.
Through Movement, Mindset and Mentorship, we work on building:
β
Confidence
β
Discipline
β
Accountability
β
Healthy habits
β
Physical fitness
β
Mental resilience
The goal isn't just to help young men perform better in the gym.
It's to help them become more capable, confident and resilient in life.
πͺ Movement
π§ Mindset
π€ Mentorship
If you have a teenage son and feel like he could benefit from some extra guidance, structure and positive influences around him, send me a message.

A big shoutout to Liam this week.
πͺ Yung Gunz Win:
β
Completed 3 workouts
π Personal Win:
β
Finished several school assignments
These might seem like small wins, but this is what progress often looks like.
It's about showing up, building momentum and doing the things you said you were going to do.
At Yung Gunz, we celebrate more than just fitness achievements. We want to see the lads improving in all areas of life, whether that's training, school, work, confidence, habits or personal development.
Well done Liam. Keep up the great work mate π
