🍞 It’s a bread-making kind of week!

Our preschool children have been exploring the science of bread making, discovering how yeast helps dough rise and how simple ingredients can transform into something delicious. There was lots of excitement as we watched, waited, and enjoyed the smell of freshly baked bread!

🍊 Our Preschool children have been busy growing fresh mandarins, and they are now ready for eating or juicing! Look how beautiful they are — so juicy, sweet, and freshly picked straight from our garden.

🍊 Oranges! Get your oranges! 🍊

We have lots of fresh oranges available this week, so please help yourself to a bag to take home. Perfect for some delicious fresh orange juicing over the weekend! 🧡

Seniors focus on the letter I 🐞🦋 Our Seniors explored insects using play dough and had discussions about the different types of insects we know. The children also enjoyed coloured ice painting with insect shapes, using their fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination to move the ice around the paper.

🌽 H is for Husking! 🌽

This week in our Seniors Room, the children enjoyed husking corn picked fresh from our very own vegetable garden! The children explored the different textures, colours, and layers while learning where food comes from.

To extend the experience, we followed up with a painting activity focused on the letter “H” for husking. 🎨 This hands-on learning experience supported fine motor skills, early literacy, and sensory exploration. 💛

It’s a bug kind of day! 🐞🕷️🦂

Today we enjoyed an exciting bug show and got up close to lots of amazing creatures, including a scorpion, huntsman spider, and many more creepy crawlies! The children loved exploring, learning fun facts, and building confidence around different insects and reptiles.

Our Kindy class shared a very special cultural experience with the centre today, introducing the beautiful Japanese festival of Hana Matsuri or flower festival. Hana Matsuri is a celebration that reminds us to appreciate nature, kindness and the beauty of the world around us. We are thankful for our wonderful educators, who help us explore culture and tradition.
