A Commissioner for Declarations can assist with witnessing and certifying documents as part of an administrative community role. This role does not involve judicial functions or court processes.

A Justice of the Peace (Qualified) can carry out the responsibilities of a Commissioner for Declarations, as well as additional non-bench and minor bench judicial duties.
