This year, we enjoyed celebrating Matariki by exploring Mฤori legends, learning about the significance of the Matariki star cluster, and participating in meaningful experiences that deepened our understanding of this special time. Through stories, conversations and hands-on activities, our children explored themes of reflection, connection, gratitude and new beginnings.

While Matariki provides a special opportunity to celebrate, we remain committed to embedding diverse cultures and perspectives into our everyday program, fostering respect, curiosity and a sense of belonging for all. ๐ŸŒŸ

This week we've enjoyed highlighting some of the many ways we embed Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander perspectives into our everyday program. Through storytelling, music, collaborative art, making damper, exploring nature and meaningful conversations, our children have continued to learn with curiosity, respect and connection.
While NAIDOC Week gives us a special opportunity to celebrate, these experiences are part of our ongoing commitment to creating a culturally safe and inclusive environment where children develop a genuine appreciation for the world's oldest continuing cultures.
Happy NAIDOC Week! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ–ค
