Epic day out smashing out 100km MS Brissie to the Bay Bike Ride with the A BODY 2 FIT Cruiser crew today πͺ
15 riders = 15 amazing legends and a new course which I'm happy to report was fantastic. β
As usual our ride was full of fun and frivolity π....lots of laughter, team camaraderie and a treat here and there ππ₯βπ¬
Our morning started with a special photo and chat with our amazing QLD Premier David Cristafuli, followed by lots of fun with the volunteers out on course (the banana man π€£π), and our inaugural team coffee stop at Wellington Point.
Lisa and I witnessed a lady take a trip to the gutter landing on a nice padded grassy knoll (apparently she was just having a lay down π€£), Danni, Simone and Zach got lost (just for a lil while π) leading to Zach purchasing an ice cream π€£ and it than conveniently landing on the ground π«£π€£
All the time Ryan kept us entertained with tunes belting from the bike speaker as we rolled into the finish line to the sound of ringing cowbells and cheers from the amazing Brissie to the Bay volunteers π’π
All in all, a fantastic and very successful day for the crew.
Thank you to our following team members for joining us for so much fun out on course, grinding out the 100km and for raising $1957....our total is still climbing in donations π±π
Jodie Deakin , John Deakin, Zach Deakin , Jane Johnson , Ivy Elleman, Kurtis Johnson, Jacqueline Rothfork Wogan , Zoe Wogan, Lisa Maria NordstrΓΆm , Danni Ewart, Nicole Carr , Simone Joyner , Ryan Barwick , Peter Barwick , Jenny Barwick
Lastly a huge thanks to all our volunteers today...your cheers, support, food treats and encouragement was greatly appreciated.
See you next year π₯°π΄

A few interesting characters out and about on our cycle course this morning kept us entertained. ππ€£ Never a dull moment...always great coffee, food and company when you cruise with the A BODY 2 FIT CREW π€©π΄π΄π΄π΄
Looking forward to our 100km charity ride at next Sunday.

Regional Cross Country was held today at Runaway Bay sports center and today we had 6 young sporting athletes who train with us for either triathlon or running out there giving it their very best.
When you make it through to Regionals for Triathlon, Cross Country, Athletics or Swimming I always tell my youngsters that they have made it through to compete against some of the most talented athletes in QLD β
β So as I watched each one of them tackle their individual goal I couldn't have been more proud....some coming away with selection through to the State Championships, some tackling their very first event and others improving on their result from previous years.
I am proud to say that 4 athletes made the top 10 with Porter taking out a podium in 3rd place, Cooper 5th, Alexander 6th and Zara 8th. Saga and Evelyn both ran exceptionally well in not just their first year of rep cross country but also a huge field of 10 years girls placing in the top third of competitors. βββ
As a coach I am always inspired by their gritty approach, a coach's dream to watch them believe in their ability....go out there and roll out their very best effort on the day.
What many don't see is the challenges these young people and their families often tackle, the adversity they overcome and the courage it takes to put themselves on the line...so a huge shout out to all our juniors who tackle these events right from school competition through to the other rep levels. πβ
Each and every athlete shone brightly today and the smiles and support from their family and friends was second to none. I love hearing and watching my parents positively cheering their kids along and supporting them in their campaign to be the best they can be β
Stand proud everyone....keep believing, keep achieving and keep smiling π

An amazing morning out getting down and dirty with the trail running community with Trail Trips & Events at In the Raw Trail Run
So proud of our crew of 17 that showed up today to soak up the beautiful scenery, together with some muddy fun running trails...for some it was their first time and for others they were back for another laugh after such a fun time last year.
We had youngsters Daren, Beau, Olivia and Frankie repping the kids squad together with many of our parents and adult athletes giving it a crack as well. I am always especially proud of the family atmosphere we bring to all these events and I love seeing our families coming together to achieve an all round family goal. πβ
Congrats to Lisa who took out the 4km event overall and to the Reilly brothers of Gabe and Lewy who finished with a lil competitive brotherly sprint to take out 2nd and 3rd overall male.
Thanks to Steve Jackson and crew for another amazing trail run and for always giving so much back to these events to make it such a fantastic experience.

Coach Jen was so proud watching you all give 100% effort on what was quite a windy and challenging course with the top 14 going through to Regionals Cross Country
Often the goals of each child may vary and many children join sporting groups for a variety of reasons....some may be looking for fun, others to reach a specific sporting goal and some because they simply need to lose weight, keep fit, make friends or are physically battling a long term health condition.
So, when we, as their coaches, look at their outcomes we are not just focused on just the podiums (which mind you are amazing π₯°) but also the overall development of the youngster and the integrity they display within the sport.
Today as I stood together with their parents watching these 6 very different athletes I was so proud π₯° I was ecstatic to see some qualify through to Regionals, some grab some bling π₯π₯ π and others just dig deep despite the challenges they face every day. As a coach I can't ask for anymore...happiness, good vibes and big smiles.
Thanks to all those parents who continually support their kids and our coaching structure whilst nurturing a positive, inclusive and happy training environment, whereby every individual is challenged and supported towards their individual goals.
Lastly, a big shout out to Zach Deakin who was not so long ago was one of these young kids....now as an adult member of our squad Zach came along for the day with Coach Jen to cheer on and support all his team mates. Kudos to you Zach for always cheering on the younger athletes in our squad.
Here's some pics of the champs in action π
