Hooray, Hooray, we are off on a Happy Holiday! 😁

This Week is a colourful session full of larger-than-life activities and lots to spot as we soar through the sky! 🌈

How can you help your toddler to develop their fine motor skills?

Fine-motor skills relate to the development of small muscles in the hand and the ability to use the fingers skilfully. Small-muscle development is necessary for grasping and gripping, climbing, cutting, sewing, and drawing. These skills build up gradually with practise.

The following activities will help toddlers master the pincer grip (key to developing their fine motor skills):

💙 Threading large beads or cotton reels onto a piece of string or a shoelace.
💙 Finger painting
💙 Picking-up sultanas or raisins
💙 Puzzles
💙 Squeezing a clothes peg
💙 Using tongs to pick up small objects such as sugar cubes
💙 Pouring drinks from a jug to a cup
💙 Building bricks

By giving your toddler plenty of opportunities to practise their pincer grip, they will build muscle strength and the endurance that they will need in the future for complex precision tasks such as writing.

Our equipment provides your toddler with physical challenges in a safe environment.

Along with this comes problem solving, motor planning, spatial awareness, self belief, confidence and FUN!

Our set up changes weekly so your toddler always has new challenges, new explorations and new adventures! 💙
