🚗🎨 Creating Through Inspiration! 🎨🚛

Our Junior Kindy children have been exploring cars, trucks and other vehicles as inspiration for their artwork! They used real-life resources to observe shapes, colours and details before creating their own versions through art.

It was wonderful to see the children use their imagination, creativity and fine motor skills as they transformed their observations into their own unique creations. 🌈✨

We love seeing how everyday experiences can inspire children to explore, create and express their ideas in their own way! ❤️

Dear Families,

Just a reminder that Little School Highland Park will be closed on Monday, 5 October for the King’s Birthday public holiday.

We hope all of our families enjoy the long weekend and have a wonderful day with their loved ones! 💛

Sensory play is so important for babies as they explore the world through their senses. Experiences like this encourage:

✋ Fine motor skills – reaching, grasping, touching and manipulating materials
🧠 Cognitive development – exploring cause and effect and making discoveries
🌱 Curiosity & exploration – encouraging babies to investigate their surroundings

Our Toddlers have been exploring the wonderful world of jelly sensory play! 🍓✨ Squishy, wobbly and cool to touch, jelly provides a fun hands-on experience that encourages children to explore using their senses.

Through this simple sensory experience, children are developing:
🖐️ Fine motor skills – squeezing, squishing, pulling and picking up jelly
👀 Hand-eye coordination – reaching, grasping and transferring pieces
🧠 Cognitive development – exploring cause and effect, textures and changes
👃 Sensory awareness – experiencing different smells, colours, temperatures and textures
💬 Language development – talking about how the jelly feels, looks and moves
😊 Confidence & curiosity – encouraging children to investigate and discover at their own pace

Our Junior Kindy children are loving exploring our beautiful sensory trays! 👐💛

Miss Amy, Miss Vitoria and Miss Laura have been creating inviting trays that spark wonder, curiosity and joy, giving children the opportunity to explore, investigate and learn through hands-on experiences. 🌿🌈

This sensory tray encouraged the children to engage their five senses as they explored different colours, textures, smells, sounds and materials. 👀👂👃👅🖐️

Sensory play supports children to:
🌱 Develop fine motor skills
🧠 Build concentration and problem-solving skills
💬 Encourage language and communication
🎨 Explore creativity and imagination

🌻🌸 Continuing Our Spring Learning in Toddlers! 🌸🌻

Our Toddlers have been enjoying exploring all things Spring! 🌱☀️

After exploring a picture of a bright sunflower, the children were invited to create their very own flowers using a fork and paper plates. 🎨🌻

This fun, hands-on experience encouraged the children to explore colour, shape and texture while developing their creativity and fine motor skills.

We’re loving continuing to learn about the beauty of Spring through fun, creative experiences! 💛🌼
