Why do we need humanitarian education? Why is it an essential step in a child's development?

It enables individuals to learn empathy, and to assess every situation from a humanitarian perspective. As Mercedes Mayol Lassalle stated, each child should be fully prepared to live an individual life in society and brought up in the spirit of the ideals proclaimed in the charter of the United Nation. In particular, in the spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality and solidarity.
It is these qualities that empower children and young people to explore solutions to challenges that the human race faces every day. They can shape a meaningful, safe, healthy and happy life for all.
