I have had a little break from my brushes over the last few months, after personal losses that really shattered me. This is a double self portrait I painted during that time. It’s obviously inspired by Frida.

Something that really hit me this year is how you can look at paintings your whole life and not really understand or appreciate the emotion in them until life experience makes you see them again in a whole new light. Like a person reaching back through history saying - “I understand how you feel, you will be ok”.
Amazing stuff. The power of art.
