Memories from November 2025

One week after going from a moderately average white belt to a very below average blue belt, I decided to jump head first into my first blue belt comp, in no gi this time…..

This is the kind of sport where you go from laughs, smiles and fist bumps to trying to survive murder yoga, all within 5 mins

I absolutely loved this comp, my competitors were insanely skilled, light years ahead of me. But I left the mats that day feeling oddly proud of being submitted….twice haha

No only do I get to enjoy this sport with my son, but I get to train alongside the most inspiring people and genuine team at 🫶🏼🫶🏼

We barely touched our phones this festive season, so whilst photos of our 3 x Christmas marathon may be limited, genuine memories are in abundance and I wouldn’t have it any other way 🫶🏼

The biggest thing I continue to learn about this insane sport (aside from still struggling to get out of someone’s guard 😅) is that whilst you may walk onto those mats an individual, it’s very much a team sport

I am so thankful to everyone around me, my training partners, coaches, professors, every single person I share the mats with and those who build us up away from it all. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
