Some photos from this month's bushwalk along the Wootton Historic Railway walk. We learnt about plants from Lou and birds from Pat.We can all now tell the difference between three different kinds of palms and several rainforest hardwoods; and also recognize the call of the brown gerygone. Mostly we avoided leeches!

We are bringing genuine textile recycling straight to the community. Our innovative trial for recycling damaged synthetic clothing is heading to local Repair Cafes and Libraries around Newcastle - the next collections are:

📅 Fri 21 Aug, 5pm – 7:30pm – IT and Tech Repair Café at IC Solutions (150 Maitland Road, Mayfield - also bring your tech for repair!)

📅 Sat 22 Aug, 10am – 12pm – Wallsend Library (30 Bunn Street, Wallsend)

We want the clothes you can't donate to op shops!
✅ Items that are torn, pilled, stained, stretched, or have broken zips.
✅ If it’s synthetic (check those tags for polyester, nylon, acrylic, PVC, elastane, Spandex, and Lycra) and unwearable, we’ll take it (unfortunately no underwear!)

See our website for other collection dates and further details at: thefullcirclecollective.com.au/the-unwearables-project/..
This initiative is brought to you by The Full Circle Collective and is proudly supported by City of Newcastle.

Maura has written two books, ride4acure-Origin Story and One White Post at a Time, following the loss of her daughter to melanoma in her early twenties.
You’ll also hear from local writers Sonja Duncan and Lindy Trudgeon, with the chance to join the conversation and ask your own questions.
