Term 3, Week 6 🌸

We have a fun-filled week ahead with plenty of opportunities for creativity, movement, sensory exploration, problem-solving and connection! From gem digging, graffiti art and finger painting to Bull Rush, parachute challenges, outdoor obstacle courses and sensory play, there’s something for everyone to get involved in. 🎨🏃‍♀️✨

We’re also continuing our Tuesday Split Program, creating age-appropriate experiences that support children to build independence, confidence, friendships and a sense of belonging. Our younger children will enjoy playful experiences such as Tuff Tray exploration, chalk obstacle courses, mindfulness colouring and playground games, while our older children can take on challenges such as Handball Knockout, Build Your Own Nachos, gratitude logging and beaded keyrings.

Through it all, we’re encouraging children to make choices, share their ideas, challenge themselves, connect with others and have their voices genuinely reflected in their program. 💚

We can’t wait for another week of learning, laughter, creativity and connection at Kidz Bizz! 🌟

🍃 Meet the educator 🍃

It’s taken us a little while, but we’ve finally made it to our last Kidz Bizz educator introduction! 🩷 And we’ve saved a pretty special one to finish off our Meet the Educator series - our lovely Educational Leader, Tove! ✨

Tove has recently stepped into the role of Educational Leader at Kidz Bizz, bringing so much passion, knowledge and heart to this important role.

Tove is a wonderful advocate for our children, ensuring their voices, interests, individual needs and wellbeing are always at the heart of what we do. She is also a huge advocate for her fellow educators, encouraging and supporting our team to reflect, grow, try new things and continue building their confidence and skills 🩷

We asked Tove some fun questions so you can get to know her a little better! 👇✨

- What is your favourite food or meal?
This is tricky because I’m a foody through and through but probably something warm and comforting like creamy sausage orzo, or a lovely pad Thai!

- What is your favourite colour?
Purple & Green 💜💚

- Do you have any pets?
Yes, I have a beautiful bull Arab dog named Zeke 🐶

- What is your favourite children’s book?
One I loveee reading with my own children at the moment is ‘Piranas don’t eat bananas’. My childhood all time fave is ‘the rainbow magic’ fairy book series.

- What is your favourite game to play with the children?
I absolutely love a challenge or group game. Paticarly 44 homes, soccer, bop tiggy, or the colour game.

- What is your favourite thing to do at Kidz Bizz?
My favourite thing is setting up the room with all the awesome activities we get to do. I love displaying a new book each week, or setting up UNO for the children to come in and enjoy. I also love baking with the children.

- If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I would want to be able to fly 🦋

- What is your favourite holiday/dream holiday?
I would absolutely loveeeee to be able to visit Japan, sip on matcha and see Mt Fuji or head back to Thailand and enjoy some mango sticky rice!

- What is your favourite afternoon tea at Kidz Bizz?
Ooo I love our Nachos, Chicken wraps and Sushi bowls

- What is something about you that people might not know?
You might not know that I absolutely love gardening! 🍃

- Would you rather have feet as hands or hands as feet?
Definitely feet as hands!

- If you were an animal, what would you be?
I’d love to be a big beautiful Elephant 🐘

- What is your favourite thing about working with children?
I love watching children’s little personalities shine, watching them learn something new, find joy in the little things or see them enjoy being apart of the fun, it truely fills me with so much happiness.

- What is one word the children would use to describe you?
I’d hope they would describe me as Kind or Fun 🌸

🌈 Term 3 | Week 5 at Kidz Bizz! 🌈

This week our program is all about children’s voices, wellbeing, connection and creativity! 💬💚

Through our new Children’s Voices Journal, children are continuing to have an active role in shaping our program. Their ideas, interests, feedback and suggestions help us create experiences that are meaningful, engaging and reflective of the children who attend our service. 📝✨

From creative challenges, STEM and construction, movement and regulation activities, group games, art experiences and opportunities for imaginative play, there is something for everyone to explore! 🎨🧩⚽️🧠

💚 Our newly configured Split Program is also continuing to grow!

Our split program has been thoughtfully redesigned across all age groups, creating dedicated spaces and experiences that are more responsive to children’s individual developmental needs, interests and abilities.

By working in smaller, age-appropriate groups, educators can:
✨ Build stronger connections and relationships
✨ Provide experiences that are appropriately challenging
✨ Support children’s regulation and wellbeing
✨ Offer more intentional learning opportunities
✨ Encourage independence, confidence and collaboration
✨ Create space for meaningful conversations and children’s voices

We are particularly excited about the opportunities this creates for co-regulation, heavy work, movement, mindfulness and calm afternoon tea experiences, helping children transition from their school day into a relaxed and connected afternoon at Kidz Bizz. 🌿💕

We’ll continue to listen, reflect and adapt alongside the children, ensuring their ideas and voices remain at the heart of our program. 🫶

🌱✨ Introducing the Kidz Bizz Sustainability Creation Station! ✨🌱

We are excited to introduce a new open-ended learning space where children can imagine, design, create and explore using clean recyclable materials. ♻️

The Sustainability Creation Station provides children with a multi-faceted learning experience, supporting their understanding of sustainability, recycling and caring for our environment while encouraging creativity, problem-solving and imaginative thinking.

Through this hands-on experience, children will have opportunities to experiment with different materials, develop engineering and design skills, and engage in heavy work activities as they cut, manipulate, construct and transform everyday items into something completely new.

We love seeing children take ownership of their creations, where there are no limits or “right answers” — just curiosity, exploration and endless possibilities. 🌏💡

We would love your support in helping us build this space! If you have any clean recyclable materials at home that could be repurposed for children’s creations, we would love to receive your donations.

Some ideas include:
📦 Cardboard boxes and tubes
🥫 Clean containers and packaging
🧴 Bottle lids and plastic containers
📄 Paper and cardboard scraps
🎁 Wrapping materials and interesting textures

🌟 Ooshie Club is Tomorrow at Kidz Bizz! 🌟

We’re excited to launch Ooshie Club tomorrow at Kidz Bizz! Children are invited to bring along their favourite Ooshies to share, swap, trade and play with friends in a fun, safe and respectful environment.

To help keep everyone’s collectables safe, please:
🟢 Place your child’s Ooshies in a labelled zip-lock bag.
🟢 Talk with your child about being responsible for looking after their own Ooshies and making fair, kind trades. (Should they want too)
🟢 Remind them that Ooshies are to be returned to their zip-lock bag after each session (or whenever requested by educators) and must not be taken out during the school day.

Please note that Ooshie Club is a Kidz Bizz activity only and is separate from the school’s Squishy Club.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our team. We can’t wait to see all of the amazing collections and watch the children connect, negotiate, share and have fun together! 🌈✨

Term 3 Week 4 - Weekly Program 🔅

We’re excited to share another week of experiences inspired by our children’s interests, ideas and wellbeing. From Pokémon and Ooshie Club to baking, nature art, Indigenous experiences, creative challenges and plenty of opportunities for movement and heavy work, our program has been thoughtfully designed to support every child to learn, connect and thrive.

This week continues our focus on embedding regulation into everyday play, with activities such as Animal Movement Challenges, Wall Push-Up Challenge, Pillow Chop Challenge, Pom Pom Capture, grounding experiences and outdoor obstacle courses. These opportunities help children build emotional regulation, confidence, resilience and social connections in fun and meaningful ways.

🍃 Looking ahead: As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we’re currently reflecting on our practices and listening closely to children’s voices. Over the coming weeks you’ll begin to see a reconfigured Split Program, designed in response to children’s feedback, interests and evolving needs. Our aim is to create even more engaging, age-appropriate experiences that foster choice, belonging, independence and meaningful participation.

We can’t wait to see the adventures, creativity and friendships that unfold this week at Kidz Bizz!

🌈💜 Happy OSHC Educators Day! 💜🌈

Today we celebrate the incredible educators who make Kidz Bizz such a special place to belong.

Every day, our team shows up with kindness, patience, creativity and endless heart, creating a safe, fun and nurturing environment where children feel valued, supported and inspired to be themselves.

The impact of an OSHC educator extends far beyond the hours before and after school. They build relationships, encourage confidence, comfort children through tough moments, celebrate achievements, create lifelong memories and help shape little hearts and minds every single day.

To our amazing team – Kirsty, Tove, Piper, Morgan, Geena, Holly H and Holly G – thank you for everything you do. Your dedication, compassion and commitment to the children and families of Kidz Bizz never goes unnoticed. We are incredibly proud of the caring, supportive and passionate team we have, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. 💜

Friendly Reminders for Our Kidz Bizz Families 🌟

As we settle into another fantastic term, we have a few friendly reminders to help our sessions run smoothly.

🧢 Hats
Please remember to pack your child with a named hat each day. While we do have a small number of spare hats available, we don’t have enough for everyone. We encourage children to take responsibility for their own belongings by returning their hat to their bag after each session.

🚶 Morning Drop-Off
For the safety of all children, we kindly ask that families walk their child into the service each morning. This helps ensure every child arrives safely and aligns with our service policies and procedures.

♻️ Donations Welcome!
We are always incredibly grateful for donations to support our program! This term we have something exciting planned and would love to begin collecting recycled loose parts materials, including:
• Yoghurt pouch caps
• Cereal and muesli bar boxes
• Cardboard
• Paper towel rolls
• Clean milk bottles
• Lids and jars

If you have any of these items at home, we’d love for you to drop them into the service.

A huge thank you to the three wonderful families who recently donated board games and balls to Kidz Bizz. Your generosity helps create new opportunities for play, learning and fun, and we truly appreciate your support! 💙
