There's so much joy hiding in a game of hopscotch! 🌈

These little ones might just look like they're having fun hopping from colour to colour (and they absolutely are!), but moments like these are where friendships grow, giggles are shared, and confidence blossoms one hop at a time.

It's one of our favourite reminders that the best days are made of simple, happy play.

Meet Alissa 💛

Little did she know that the Glenorie girl in this photo would grow up to lead a preschool room right in the community that raised her.

Alissa is a Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator with over six years' experience, and one of our Preschool Room Leaders. Growing up here means she understands just how much strong community connections matter, and it shows in the relationships she builds with every child and family who walks through our doors.

For Alissa, the best part of the job is watching the little things become big things: confidence growing, curiosity taking off, and independence blossoming as our preschoolers get ready for their next big step.

Numbers are everywhere at preschool, and we love finding playful ways to explore them. 🔢

This week the children counted balls one by one, spotted numbers on flash cards, circled the right one on the boards, and matched shapes to their outlines. It might look like play (because it is!), but underneath it all they're building the counting, number recognition and early maths skills that set them up beautifully for big school.

Our school readiness program is one of the things that makes Glenorie a little bit special, and we'd love to show you around. Come in, have a look, and meet the wonderful team.

Dear Preschool Families and our Community,

You may have seen recent media coverage about an AFP investigation that led to a man, 35, being charged with allegedly producing child abuse material through his employment at childcare and early education facilities in the north-west suburbs of
Sydney between 2009 and 2025.

The AFP has advised Glenorie Preschool that there is no evidence or information indicating any offending has been committed at our service.

We can confirm that the alleged offender was never an employee of Glenorie Preschool, however a review of our records indicates that he was engaged by the preschool on the following two occasions:

- An excursion on Friday, 13th October, 2023
- An incursion on Tuesday, 20th May, 2025

Our service policies and procedures were followed throughout both of these occasions, with the appropriate checks being taken prior to the visit and five educators remained present at all times throughout both of these events.

The AFP have published a webpage at www.afp.gov.au/op-moonbi with further information, a dedicated local contact point and additional resources. You can also contact them directly with concerns at [email protected]

The safety and wellbeing of our children continues to be our highest priority.

🧸 What a bear-y special day!
Last week the oval was covered in picnic rugs, giggles, and a whole lot of very well-loved teddies! Every little one brought along their own bear or soft toy, and our big bear came out to join the fun too. 🐻
The magic didn't stop at the picnic blanket though, our friends squished teddies out of playdough, drew their very own bears, and dreamed up what their perfect picnic friend might look like.
So much learning tucked inside a day like this: imagination, storytelling, fine motor skills, sharing and creating… all wrapped up in something that simply felt like joy. Because that's what learning through play is all about.
Our little ones loved every moment... and we think their teddies did too!💚
