Tiny Tackers Children's Centre

Tiny Tackers Children's Centre Tiny Tackers Children’s Centre is an Education and Care facility for children aged between 6 weeks and 6 years.

We have recently been rated as EXCEEDING the national quality standards. Our aim is to provide an educational environment for children and their families to explore on a daily basis. We strive to build respectful relationships with the children and their family and care for them as a family unit. We have a homely environment indoors which is spread across 4 different rooms. We also have a wonderfu

l undercover area for the children to explore rain, hail and shine, as well as our 3 large play spaces in the greater outdoors. Communication is the key to ensuring families are feeling part of their children’s experience at Tiny Tackers. We have recently begun using an app which keeps the families updated with photos of their children throughout the day which has been wonderful. If you would like to take a tour of our Centre, get more information or meet the wonderful Educators please contact us by phone today. 62 722 886

End of an Era.

In July, Tiny Tackers will be changing ownership to allow me to spend some quality time with my children in their early years before they go to school.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the entire Tiny Tackers Community that has spread far and wide over the last 13 and a half years.
Without my mum and dad taking a huge chance on me in 2011, Tackers would have never become the place it is today. My family and friends have been my biggest supporters, and I am forever grateful.
Cathy, Sam, Krissy and Emma, your leadership and support over the years have been outstanding and you are the reason we have the reputation we have today. Every practice we have embedded in our wonderful Centre is a credit to you all.
To my long-standing employees, your dedication and commitment to the Centre for so many years is invaluable. We have been through a lot together, both personally and professionally, and I will miss working with you all dearly. I am very much looking forward to the continued friendships we will have well into the future. The children you care for are very lucky to have you advocating for them.
I would also like to thank our families who have come through the centre, some with 4-5 children over the last 13 years. The relationships we have built are wonderful and it’s been a pleasure caring for you all through the challenges of parenting young children.
To my colleagues in the industry, many of you have supported me in various ways without even knowing. It’s a tricky job at times and leaning on the wealth of knowledge that you are, especially through Covid, has been very much appreciated. I look forward to working with you all in the future.
Tiny Tackers Children’s Centre is a special place. It has a team of Amazing Educators under excellent leadership. An exceeding rating, with a full waiting list. A wonderful reputation within the community and a place to provide students an opportunity to learn. It’s a safe place for families to feel secure and supported through their parenting journey and most importantly, a home away from home for children to create childhood memories.
That is my job proudly done.

Today we participated in the Australia wide, simultaneous reading of Bowerbird Blues, by Aura Parker.

The Tiny Tackers and Winnies Room joined together and the Little Tackers and Superstars for this event that was held at 12pm today.

The simultaneous reading has been held for twenty four years now and is a fun way to promote reading and literacy.

The Superstars have spent the afternoon extending on this experience by creating blue paintings and creating their own bird collages.

Children develop a sense of connectedness to groups and communities and an understanding of their reciprocal rights and responsibilities as active and informed citizens.
Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, places, technologies and natural and processed materials.

Dressing up is one of our favourite activities at Tiny Tackers! Dress ups is a form of imaginative play which allows children the opportunity to create situations and act out social events. It gives them time to test out new ideas and behaviours, helps to promote creative thinking and communication skills.

Costumes help some of our children to settle and separate from their families in the morning, providing them something special to look forward to and a chance for self expression.

We are very lucky to have been given lots of second hand costumes from families and dance schools that children of all ages have been able to utilize.

-Children feel safe, secure and supported
-Children develop knowledgeable, confident self-identities and a positive sense of self-worth
-Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, places, technologies and natural and processed materials

The children celebrated Easter at Tiny Tackers by doing easter craft activities, they enjoyed painting, cooking, decorating crowns and eggs and participating in sensory activities.
The children also created a special Easter gift to take home to share with their families which we had lots of fun creating.
For our final day before our Easter break, we had a special guest, the Easter ballerina! She did some dancing with us, taught us how to do our fairy toes and played Emma Wiggles songs.

The Tiny Tackers team would like to wish you all a safe and happy easter break.

This week we have celebrated Harmony Week!
Orange is the chosen colour to represent this special occasion as it signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. We have put a focus on this colour through our art and sensory experiences.
We have created displays and also set up tabletop experiences centering on diversity and inclusiveness, this has been followed through in our group times this week as we read stories, dance, and play music.

OUTCOME 2: CHILDREN ARE CONNECTED WITH AND CONTRIBUTE TO THEIR WORLD
• Children develop a sense of belonging to groups and communities and an understanding of the reciprocal rights and responsibilities necessary for active community participation
• Children respond to diversity with respect
• Children become aware of fairness

We were very lucky to have a special show and tell from one of our friends about their beehives and bees at home. The children enjoyed learning about collecting honey and the protective outfits you wear. We also enjoyed a yummy treat made from the honey.
Allowing the children to share their experiences from home, introduces new environments and experiences to their peers, it also lets the children learn about their friends interests. Sharing experiences and items from home helps the children develop social skills, confidences, and communication.

Outcomes
• 1.1 Children feel safe, secure, and supported.
• 1.3 Children develop knowledgeable and confident self identities.
• 2.4 Children become socially responsible and show respect for the environment.
• 4.3 Children transfer and adapt what they have learned from one context to another.
• 4.4 Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, places, technologies and natural and processed materials.
• 5.1 Children interact verbally and non-verbally with others for a range of purposes.

We have had a fun filled start to the new year at Tiny Tackers!

Our weeks have been filled with saying good bye to our older children as they head off to school, transitioning children to their next room, bringing in new resources and welcoming new friends and educators to our family.

The transition period is always a lot of fun and brings new challenges to our team of educators as we discover the different interests and personalities of our children.

Here is a little snap shot of our year so far.

Another year has been and gone, it shows just how much time flies when you are having fun!

We wanted to give a shout out and thank you to all of our families, friends and members of the community who have supported us through out the year.
We couldn't do what we do best, with out all of your love, patience and support.

We wish each of you a safe holiday season and we can't wait to see you all back, bigger and better then ever, in the New Year!

Here are a few cheeky shots of our elves, Chestnut and Bauble (Bob) and some of their adventures through our service.

All our love,

The Tiny Tackers Team

Week two of our Christmas program has kept us just as busy as the first!
Our big children spent a morning at Little Wood berry farm and Village Cinemas to see the new Trolls movie while our younger rooms each enjoyed a walk to our local park.
We have had special guests such as Jenina's Dance Workshop and Michelle with her PJ the DJ show, while still making time for our water fun day, pancake breakfast, teddy bear picnic, crazy hair days, cooking experiences and all the little things in between.
We are so thankful for all the support we have from families and the community during this time, as each year gets better and better!
We have one week left of 2023- Lets make it count!

We have just completed our first jam packed week of the Christmas program and we can say with out a doubt, that both children and educators have had the most amazing week. We will all sleep well tonight!
We have been on excursions to Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary, Bellerive beach, Simmons park and most importantly we set off on a walk to our local Brent Street park where we participated in our very first Tackers colour fun run!
The children have had visits at the centre from Hey Dee Ho, The Milkshake Lady, Ready Steady Go Kids and our younger children had the best time with a foam obstacle set up from Let's Play Event Hire.
In between there has been plenty of arts and craft, cooking, dancing and our very own take home reindeer feed bags.
It's time to settle into the weekend and get ready for week two!
